    Nr 1 - Great advice - In my case this was the biggest issue, jumping in too soon before doing the work and learning how to do close straight shots with a consistent technique.

    Glad I found this. I've recently been rattling the pockets A LOT in my games and it's got in my head a bit. I figured it was a cueing action rather than looking more at the sighting. Will definitely spend some time next visit to the table in checking this out

    The reflection steel ball is a great idea. I am a mediocre player but I always tell my brother that he misses straight shots as he hits too hard, normally to try and get postion on next ball. I always tell him he is better to safely pot and then decide if safety etc...Great video as always 👍👍

    Always remember that a controlled backswing means that the delivery will also be under control. Might sound a bit silly but it's true. Next time you play, focus on a slow(ish) controlled backswing with a nice pause at the back and you'll see that your delivery will also be better.

    Great video. Love the encouragement to choose to think positively about the cue action you’ve got and look in other places for ways to improve (while also completing shots consistently, staying still and controlling backswing..😂). Tip 1 is intriguing... not seen it anywhere before - looking forward to testing myself on it. Tip 8 is my favourite though. Amazing what % of people, me included, play snooker all their lives without this so crucial penny ever dropping! Like the related practice drill with a second white placed two shots ahead - would work well using a cue ball sized white paper disc (moved around with cue tip Nic Barrow stylee...🙂). Finally, I will also benefit massively from finally understanding why I should always get up and start again rather than engage in second guessing and believing that some sort of adjustment is needed to make a shot work... Thank you very much.

    • @TheNipper2010
      @TheNipper2010 Před 3 lety

      p.s. the other 3 tips I remember now and like most of the top ten are “always put your cue on the line of aim - helped by having your foot somewhere near it too”, “practice round the black spot” and “practice safety with just cue ball and the black”.

    • @TheNipper2010
      @TheNipper2010 Před 3 lety

      p.p.s. Which just leaves the tip about breaking off and one other for me to go back and check up on..!! 😂 (oh, just remembered, it was about identifying shots to nothing and % play in matches - which is something I’m already OK at...)

    The tip about working the CUE BALL positioning forward two shots is not one I've heard. I normally just work to get about the right angle on the correct side to generate the same on the next shot and the one after (3 ahead), but not to specific 2nd or 3rd ahead cue positioning. Interesting, will keep that in mind. Tightening control on future play is probably never a bad thing. Good tip, I hope. :-)
