this was great - my favorite line - "It Don't Matter" as you drive away from your mechanic trailing a puddle of oil - LOL
Glad you liked it!
Just changed my ex MoD 110 headlights yesterday, it still had the original Lucas semi sealed units with Lucas 410 bulbs. It now has blue white Halogens maximum legal wattage for ADR compliance with separate relays and wiring direct to the battery. My torch is back in the tool bag, don't need it to check if the headlights are on anymore.
For cock eyed lights remove the lamp assembly grab the ally sub frame and pull it back into shape by hand, mine were all over the place due to normal Land Rover knocks and bumps over the years.
Had me in pieces about the length of the screws! ‘Holding the back lights on’ 🤣
Clever reference to the 1973 album by "The Who" there Mike or should I say "Jimmy". You've reminded me my Disco headlights are pretty "hazed", I need to get some new ones...or a couple of flashlights!
I,v always fancied fitting a couple of 5" head lights on to a defender. I recon that it would look really great. Just another silly dream. Great video Mike. Yorkshire Rob.
Santana beat you to it Rob!
Google Santana PS-10
Like the sweatshirt Mike, I drove for SCA UK for a few years on the waste paper side, 15 years later and I am still wearing the polo and sweatshirts to work on my RRC and my wife's Disco 200 tdi, if only Land rovers lasted as long as SCA shirts ( just kidding )
Michel left it here last year so I commandeered it !
To make changing the headlamps easier on my Defender, I cut out the panels so that they fit over the side lamps and indicators. One panhead self tapper between the holes keeps the panel in place. This means that you no longer need to take the lamps off to access the headlamp. Hope this helps. Dave.
Actually I think the originals were like that!
Sometimes silly humour is the best. Ho di ho indeed.
Laughing at the length of screws gag. 👍😁
In a mind to swap out my LEDs on my puma, yes they look nice, but the main beam ain’t worth a blow on a rag mans trumpet, jump in my Wolf and I can see forever down the road.
Great film as per, thanks Mike, hoping you’re well?
looking tired. 👍🏻
I do smile a lot here when references come up that must have the Americans [and others] scratching their heads and thinking WTF??? Serves them right for inflicting "Math" "Can I get [a coffee]......." "Do you got a ....." and similar on us.
Lol!
O Mike what if you have motor on lights what then??? Cheers Mike 🥃
Very interesting I shall soon have to do this to fix the wobbly headlights on my stage 1 ! The Bowles have turned to dust I think
I have fitted these before

I am British and live in Canada. One thing that drive me crazy here, is whenever I use the the word fitting they look at me as if I have just landed from an alien planet. Is it really that hard to understand that fitting and installation are interchangeable.
There is a likeness to Larry Grayson now you mention it.
Thanks ! I need lie down now...
I’ll wager the haze is white overspray that was wiped off poorly!
Do Defenders benefit from relays and heavy wire the same way as Series LRs do when fitting halogen lights? My 1995 RRC was retrofit with halogen lights by the previous owner, and they put relays in to protect the switches, but also to reduce resistance and increase brightness. I’m only assuming Defenders are the same.
Yes it’s a common mod to add relays Ona defender as well, although I haven’t got round to it yet! Better get a move on before my switch burns out
Ho de ho
Mike. It's not the mellinium Falcon is it. These Defenders trying to drag off every 'Electric Jesus' cars each week is a joke ! I heard once that Zenon/LED headlights "fog up" in areas with snowed in winters due to a lack of heat in headlamps ? V.
There's a bit of Octagon in everything English or there's a little English in every Octagon...
Nice work Mike.
