    Thanks for giving some love to Rosenheim! I am glad you had fun. :) You are welcome to return for our Starkbierfest (Strong-Beer-Festival) arounf February-March (I am not sure at the moment). It has only a beer tent but for compesation the beer is also a little bit stronger ;)

    Just finished our Oktoberfest adventure. Heading home tomorrow morning. Stumbled upon the fest in Salzburg yesterday. Wish we had time for another meet up. Maybe next time. Viel Spaß!

    I love the Rosnheimer Herbstfest. I went there back in 1990 and I would go there again any day over touristy Oktoberfest

    Awesome video, we recently experienced Oktoberfest in Munich and we couldn't get enough of it. This seems like a great alternative/or addition, just gotta work in our German 😎

      @@NearFromHome Lol, good to know about the English, I know in Munich and other big cities, usually not an issue, wasn't sure about smaller towns. We'll have to continue scoping your channel to learn more about these other festivals, we can't wait to be back in Bavaria to continue exploring.

    Hello Camille and Ben,, We just returned from our visit to Munich for Octoberfest and wanted to share how much my husband and I enjoyed our time there. So much to see, eat, drink, and experience that we just touch the surface during this visit. We're making plans to return to visit Stuttgart, Heidelberg, and Mannheim in late November for pleasure and my husband's work convention.       At the same time when there is the Oktoberfest in Munich there is the so called Cannstatter Wasn near Stuttgart. It is much smaller but also quite nice.

    Wow, such a lot of atmosphere, i really enjoyed watching this video. It was like taking an atmosphere-drug and beeing there with you on the Wilde Maus. Could I ask you a favour?
    Could you also do a vid of the Gäubodenfest in Staubing? By the way, I tried out the Café Gugelhupf, you were right, really nice cakes.

      It was in the mid-50s and I was very young. We first lived in Salzburg and then Bad Abling after Rosenheim.

    i am team "bigger fests are better", there is too much localism at the small ones(not always ofc). the herbstfest is medium size - compared to the size of the city it is huge^^

      I think this in generally true. A larger fest has more to offer. I will say though, after going to Herbstfest, I find myself a little annoyed at Oktoberfest now. The vibes aren't as nice, and there are so many tourists getting in my way lol

      Thanks! Yes! We would have specified if there was a fee, as we are trying to be as helpful as possible, but I totally understand the confusion. It’s pretty wild that you just walk in 😅 I have never experienced one of these beer tents with an entrance fee

    If you never been to Germany, would you recommend going during Octoberfest? If so what days would you recommend? Are food menus in English? Is public transportation easy? Been dreaming of going. Trying to make it out this year as we going to Paris and Barcelona.

      Yes and no haha. It is incredibly crowded and expensive during Oktoberfest season, but the celebration is amazing. It is very accessible for tourists. The menus are in English, the staff speak English, and we have a whole video on how to navigate public transit! If you want to experience an Oktoberfest-like celebration, I would recommend Munich's Frühlingsfest in the spring. Same deal, just without the tourists!

      @@alejandrotobar737 We do not have a video on the Spring Oktoberfest, but we hope to make one this year. It's really just Oktoberfest, but smaller and with no tourists.       This is also a nice time of the year. We have a giant playlist of daytrips from Munich. Most of them would be appropriate during late April early May.

      @@NearFromHome It was nightmare yesterday, me and my friends took a Bayern ticket to travel for 4hrs and we were on queue from 11am till 2pm and we couldn't get into one of the tents. The bouncer started physically dragging people even girls, away from the front becuase it was so packed, people were pushing from the back till the front and the girls were falling over the line they said not to cross.
      Meanwhile all the Germans with fancy clothing and scarfs got in like all posh and stuff. It was like a queue to some big exclusive club. Plus it was raining and everyone was queuing under the rain.
      We didn't get into the tents but we live in Germany as international students so we just went to the Hofbräuhaus for volkfestbier and and music and some Chinese food.

      @@siggilinde5623Idc about who makes the reservation but the problem is thay 70% are to be reserved whereas only 30% are to be unreserved and none of the guests have a time limit to how long are they allowed to be in there!
