Absolutely not they not get đ° enough but the miles and the benefits are the bummer.
My best friend was a flight attendant and they definitely don't.. Some of the stories she'd tell me about the things passengers did were just disgusting and ridiculous!

You're being serious ? Thousands apply for one position. They know the deal going in , pay etc , if they don't like it, they can quit . Someone is available to take their job
Reminds me of my flying days. I flew for 37 years and am retired now.
In earlier times a lot of airlines closed down for Christmas. My airline Air India was one of the very few that had flights on Christmas day. Consequently, a lot of International celebrities who wanted to get back home for Christmas, would catch our flight. I remember flying John Wayne, Gina Lollobrigida, Peter O'tool, Omar Sharif and many more on these flights.

I had to fly on Christmas Eve this year and a few years ago on Christmas Day. I am always thankful to those that work so I can see my loved ones

I work holidays in a hospital and donât really mind it! The patients need someone there with them and genuinely seem grateful. âșïž Iâm sure your passengers feel the same way!

I'm amazed that the restaurants in the airport are closed. It would be such a high revenue day for them!
Beth Hughes You noticed that there wasnât passenger around, maybe just a few, but not enough to open the shops or restaurants, so not enough business to open up...and those employees donât work for the airport, they work for the companies who has a shop or restaurant in the airport.

@@clarradactyl7791 I agree. I didn't mean to come across as insensitive. I'm the first person who thinks things should close down for the holidays. I don't shop on holidays, or go out to eat. I think everyone should have Thanksgiving, Christmas and New year's off. I guess, because it's an airport, with tons of travelers during the holidays it just surprised me. I guess I thought it would be a situation where places were open with people who VOLUNTEERED worked and were paid overtime for doing so. I really wasn't being critical. I truly believe everyone should have holidays off to be with family. There are people who don't celebrate holidays and don't mind the overtime pay. I was thinking more in that direction and didn't mean to come across insensitive or uncaring. It just surprised me. Good going for the restaurants who honored the holidays and closed. I didn't mean to be offensive. My apologies.
@@JMarieCAlove great point. Everyone deserves time off to celebrate with family and friends. I guess I was just surprised that the businesses didn't capitalize on people who were traveling. However, I am impressed!

@@hypnoliebecoaching8296 You are missing the point here. This is an amazing story of a person with a great attitude and handling things brilliantly. Of course, the blogger enjoys her family but some folks have to work. By the way, I am in my 60's and have learned the value of a great attitude.
I fly many times annually, mostly international and have much respect for the cabin crew on each flight. I recently flew Paris to New Delhi and the flight attendant was wonderful--her enthusiasm and people skills made the trip. I once met a young cabin crew member who'd flown 2 short flights earlier and still had 4 hours (and another flight) before bed! I was stunned by his endurance.

I use to work in the control tower in a railway switching yard. Worked every holiday during my time with the railway; Xmas, Easter, New Years, etc. However the pay was excellent, double time and a half.
My husband did the same thing for years before we had kids who would notice that Christmas was NOT Dec. 26th. Two and a half times per hour meant he worked Christmas! It was fine.
I worked as a bridge operator for NJ Transit Railroad. I spent many a holiday by myself in the little room attached to a rail bridge over a river with my only company being the train dispatchers, engineers & boat captains over the radio. But the holiday pay was too good to say no to!

As someone who worked at a hotel for 3 years.... DEFINITELY ask the front desk if there are 2 beds to switch to! We always put airline staff in king beds as a courtesy, but depending on the night there might be a case where the hotel needs the 1 bed over 2! Worth a shot to ask :) we all loved hosting the airlines

I understand how tiring this job can be but itâs my dream job! I love love traveling, itâs my passion and I now my this is the job I want to have a happy life.

I worked in an urgent care in my past would always pick up to work the holiday shifts.
First of all merry Christmas. I know the feeling of lying over alone on Christmas but unlike you I had my entire crew with me. Iâm a former Eastern Airlines flight attendant and enjoy watching your videos because it brings back so many beautiful memories of the best job I ever had. This was before 911 and flying was very different but just the same Iâd give anything to be flying again.

I've been at JFK at 11:00 at night, looking for food after a looong delay at MIA, with no luck. You'd think SOMETHING would be open. Thank God for an old, smushy protein bar found at the bottom of my totebag,lol. Shared it with my husband. Nothing to drink. Sigh.

Moral to this, if flying over Christmas, take emergency food with you. Nothing will be open. Passengers choose fly this time of year, Airport and Flight Crews don't, so be super nice to them.
