Also, there are Doctor Who stories (comics, I believe) where the Toymaker changes their name to The Mandarin. “Celestial” may have had a double meaning, but certainly the Chinese connection was intentional, especially given the costume as well. It would be naive to believe there’s no double-reference. The N- word is actually used in a children’s song that is in one of the original Toymaker episodes. It was a different time, such things were unfortunately normalized back then. And are rightly done differently now.

Always loved T. davis sense of urgency and real threat in his stories, and how tennant and this doctor in particular demonstrate his feelings more openly. He allowed himself to be angry, sad, fearful ( 9th also) and that make everything so much better. I'm so happy DoctorDonna is back but also don't wanna get my heart broke again . On April 24th, the BBC confirmed that Murray Gold will not only be composing the music for the 60th Anniversary Specials, but he will also be doing the composing for Series 14 of Doctor Who, which will be airing in 2024.

This looks glorious, I can’t wait. Also, I’m watching through season 4 of Sex Education now and all I can think is how excited I am to see Ncuti be The Doctor. He’s easily the best actor in that whole show (aside from Gillian Anderson of course) and I think he’s gonna kill it.
A lot of people calling this the Year of Tennant, but Ncuti was in Barbie, let's not forget. Arguably this years 'biggest' actors (in terms of project popularity) are *both* playing the Doctor, which is remarkable.
Love how all the excitement has returned to Who fandom. If Russell T should take anything from all the countless reactions it's that fans do love recognising former characters, old references and just re-engaging with all their favourites. That's what we've been missing.

Of course myself as a big Doctor Who fan I’m looking forward to it. I’m one of those fans who grew up watching the classic series before new who was on in the period of time called the wilderness years. I was 8 or 7 years old and I use to go down to my local library and pick up vhs tapes of classic episodes.

I’ve really enjoyed researching the history of The Toymaker in both the original series and apparently in Doctor Who comics and audio as well. It looks like there are a lot of nods to those stories in this one, particularly the dancing and the amusement park (all that confetti).
I know this is unlikely but imagine if they gave us the ultimate bait and switch. Where Donna dies and she regenerates into Ncuti who then travels with Tennant.
From sources I have at BBC Broadcasting House, the BBC schedulers are still divided over whether to air it nightly or weekly. The November scheduling decision has to be made come early October so we will find out in around 1 to 2 weeks time.
He is not in the trailer, his appearance will be kept for a very emotional moment for viewers. He will be there and RTD said he will be truly honoured.
They should never bring back previous generations of the Doctor. It is just done to chase ratings and for nostalgic reasons but it messes up the advancement of the series. I guess after the awful Jodie Whittacker Doctor seasons they had to get a crowd pleasing Doctor back and Tennant was one of the most popular, so why not.
The brought back doctors for the 10th anniversary in 1973, the 20th anniversary in 1983, the 50th anniversary in 2013 and now for the 60th. They have form.

It has been confirmed on Twitter that this is indeed the Toymaker like everyone speculated. I'm so excited for this, it looks EPIC
