    As someone who has watched the entirety of JoJo... Yeah, context rarely makes it any less bizarre.

      You say that, but almost every one of these clips makes sense in context.

      @@newgoog9423 They make sense, sure. But a scene making sense doesn't prevent it from making you stop for a moment to wonder what the hell is going on.
      I mean, this is the show where an alien turns into dice in order to help someone cheat at gambling, and that's somehow one of the more mundane episodes.

    Unlike what people in the comments are saying, almost all of these scenes make perfect sense in context. JoJo is certainly bizarre, but it's far from non-sensical.

    Not bizarre and slightly boring part of JoJo is only 7 episodes long (in season 1 there is 2 parts) so you absolutely shouldn't skip that 🙏🏼

    Honestly, I started out JoJo's from the third saga, "Stardust Crusaders", skipping the first two, and I wasn't left too out of the loop. The series makes a great work of allowing viewers to understand what's going on, whichever order you do it. But of course, watching all in order gives the most context and allows to pick up references along the road, so in the end it's up to your personal preference. Never let anyone tell you how to watch JoJo's

    And yeah. Part 1 of JoJos turned me off initially too. It’s not nearly bizarre enough. I would say skip it but it sets up all the world building for the future parts. Luckily, part 1 isn’t that long and the rest of season 1 is made up of part 2, which finally delivers a good bit on the bizarre part, and then part 3 (season 2) and onwards is the craziest shit ever

  • @31r1n
    @31r1n Před 6 měsíci +1

    the first part of jojo called phantom blood is definitely a lot more milder and traditional compared to the later parts but it’s important to not skip it because it’s where you learn the origin of the whole jojo story and their fight against evil. it’s still bizarre but not as surreal like the later parts lol.
    IN MY OPINION: part one is better experienced when you read the manga compared to watching the anime. i do not like the pacing of the story in the anime at all, it’s way too fast and i think this ruins the experience. there are also some moments i like that are completely missing in the anime version, but that always happens in anime based of manga. i will remind you again that this is my opinion so do whatever you want but i personally recommend reading the manga before (or after) you watch the anime!

  • @ZeallustImmortal

    Do not drop the show on part 1, you will be missing out. Part one is only 9 episodes long so it should be easy just to power through even if you don't like it as much. It also should not be skipped.

    I mean, if its really that much of a big deal for you to stop watching the whole series, then sure, skip it, but even if each part is its own story, its all connected to Part 1. You will be missing context for the following parts.
    Its not that long though

  • @undeadMonk
    @undeadMonk Před 7 měsíci +2

    The first season (Phantom Blood) takes a while to get crazy, every part from then on lives up to the name from day 1.
    I skipped Part 1 and read a plot summary four episodes in because it seemed like they were transitioning to a 'fight a new vampire every episode' plot which i just wasn't interested in - but part 1 is surprisingly short ('season 1' is actually Part 1 and Part 2 together - streaming sites lay it out very oddly) so it probably would have been fine if I'd just toughed it out for three episodes or so.
    People will try and tell you that Part 1 is unskippable - you can listen to them if you want, Part 1 is not as dull as it first seems, but I can tell you from first hand experience that it is not at all necessary to enjoy the later parts so long as you know what happened. Go with what your heart tells you.

    Season 1 is 9 episodes long. Needed for the context but definitely the weakest part of the show. After that, it's way better.
