Ridgewood is the best town to live in Bergen county …
and also the 2nd best town to live in the whole of NJ
Ridgewood is one of the largest towns in Bergen county with 25,000 residence.
Because of its size there 7 deferent neighborhoods in Ridgewood, it does not matter what is your preferences you will find a neighborhood that will fit you .
Pros
1)Commute to NYC
Ridgewood is located about 20 miles away from midtown Manhattan
There is a train to NYC form the Ridgewood train station, you can ride to Secaucus Junction and then switch one of the train lines or ride all the way to Hoboken and take the path to midtown Manhattan
If you commute by car, it should take you around 50 Minutes depends on the time of the day.
Ridgewood is also located 25 miles away from the Newark international airport.
2)Schools
Ridge school district is the 3rd best school district in Bergen county and the 7th best school district in the whole state of new jersey.

There are 5 elementary schools- Hawes, Ridge, Orchard, Somervile and wilard.
2 middle schools - George Washington and Benjamin Franklin
1 high school - Ridgewood high school
3)vibrant downtown area
Ridgewood has an amazing downtown area that called Village Square with everything you can ask for ,
From top rated restaurant to local bars and shopping.
Many of Bergen county residence are coming over to Ridgewood to enjoy a day or night out.
2 of my favorite spots are:
Raymond’s at the corner of Oak St and E Ridgewood Ave a great upscale diner where you can get breakfast lunch and dinner.
And Office Tavern and grill located on Chestnut St a place that serve a American cuisine including large selection of craft beers.
4)Parks and towns amenities
There are more then 127 acres of parkland in Ridgewood.
Few of the best ones are:
Graydon Park- located …..There is a swimming pool that you can swim there during the summer .
The park also has baseball fields and soccer fields, this is a great time to spend with the family specially during the spring and summer time.
Another great park is Citizens Park - located right by the George Washington middle school, its great park with soccer fields in baseball fields.
Another great park is the Ridgewood Duck Pond and that located by Ridgewood Ave & Pershing Ave.
This park is part of the Saddle River County Park system.
In this park you can seat on a bench by the pond, you can go for a walk or run on large paved path that goes all the way to Saddle River and there is also a great dog park there.
5)low crime rate

Ridgewood is rated as the safest town in Bergen county with almost no crime at all .

Now with all the good things about Ridgewood let’s talk of how much it will cost you to live there.
The Average home sold price in Ridgewood is $1,070,000.
Its not going to be cheap to live in Ridgewood.
2)Property taxes
If you thought that all the pros of Ridgewood comes with no extra charge you were wrong because real estate taxes are not cheap in Ridgewood.
The tax rate in Ridgewood is 2.7%.
On Average, each homeowner in Ridgewood pays around $19,000 in property taxes every year.

It's a wonderful town; I have family in Ridgewood and it's a joy to visit.
Target audience reached I guess :)
Also at a yard sale in my grandparents neighborhood, someone sold me a specialty nordic ware bundt cake pan for two dollars. So yeah Ridgewood is a great place
