      Please no tips, unless you are showing what not to do as a lebaro. I will not allow my child to watch your videos, so that she doesnt pick up any of of these bad habots. She will not be picked for lebaro if shr plays like this

    I play volleyball. I am an outside. I play regionals at one of the best in my stat. I am hoping to eventually play nationals. I would love to play professionally, but that is really hard to do. My moms rule is if I want to do that I have to play volleyball every day for 30 minutes on the 6 days I have practice. I have to do an hour and a half on the one day I don’t have practice. I am 15. I have been playing for 3 years. I love it. My practices are 2 1/2 hours long 3 days a week and an hour and half 2 days of the week. I have a one hour practice every Monday though. I also play for my school 5 days a week and then plus games. I do a lot and my mom also wants me to be a straight A student. I play a lot, but I want to be a labero and this video is very helpful.

    I would just like to say you are such a role model! As a sort of young volleyball player, you have inspired me so much and helped a lot. I look up to you because I would love to be a libero, and lots of my teammates think would do good as one. My name is the same as yours, which for some reason makes me feel stronger and more determined to be like you!

    I stand in a lot of serve receives and stare down the server. A lot of serves you can quick set to your setter. Always move your feet in defense and plug your teams blocking holes as a middle back.

    • @jdrankwalter
      @jdrankwalter Před 7 měsíci

      I feel like a lot of long serves are soft and setting instead of passing is easier in serve receives.

    this helped so much but i have a few more questions if you don’t mind: one of them is the drive to get that ball. like i feel like i need to communicate before i do it but then i don’t and just pass the ball or i just stick my arms out and hope for the best. also there’s always extremely hard hitters on my team and others, how can i get a strong mindset to not be afraid bc i have had a concussion before from it 😅 thank you a bunch!!!!!!!

    • @delaneymoon
      @delaneymoon  Před 6 měsíci

      I am always asked for diving tutorials and I have to be honest, it is hard for me to really explain how I got so good at it. I intend to put one together soon.
      I do know that a lot of it is mental. It is not natural for us to throw our bodies in the air over a hard surface. Overcoming that self-preservation instinct is probably the hardest part.
      First of all, I do recommend training on a sports court, not a hardwood gym floor.
      I wear sleeves with built-in elbow pads. Mine are linked on my gear page at delaneymoon.com
      You want to focus on launching yourself forward, not down into the court. You will usually push off with one foot while the other is thrust up into the air. Your push-of foot will then follow.
      You will land in a sequence of points, staying away from boney parts of your body.
      Starting with your palms/forearms ( this is also where the elbow pads come in ) Be carefully not to land where your hands can stick and roll under.
      Then your chest/belly should contact, followed by your thighs/toes.
      Think of doing the worm. I hope this helps some.

      @delaneymoon  Před 4 měsíci +2

      I am currently practicing/conditioning about 6 hours a week minimum. I also work out a couple times a week and get a lot of touches teaching privates and clinics. Ball handling / passing to yourself is a good at home drill.

    I wish the girls could spike the ball because I don’t know if I’m gonna be Libero this year for my high school volleyball team if I make the team this year and if I get put as a Libero I’m afraid I’m not gonna be able to spike the ball and I really want the chance to spike the ball so would they allow it if a Libero was to spike the ball?

    • @delaneymoon
      @delaneymoon  Před měsícem

      Liberos cannot attack the ball when it is completely above the plane of the net.

    i tried playing volleyball once and hated it because no on on my team communicated enough to make a solid play. Now i’m going into my freshman year of highschool and want to try out. I’m 5”2 and i’m done growing but i don’t want to be a setter so i want to practice being libero. When did you start and do you have any tips for me just trying now that i’m going into highschool?

    • @delaneymoon
      @delaneymoon  Před 28 dny

      I started when i was 7. Focus on developing your defensive skills. Find some clinics or find a private coach.

      It means free in Italian, signifying the freedom the libero has to come on and off the court
