You should've done the full version of the song, Kristin. The intro is what make this song so special, the way Bruce perform during that intro is fantastic.

@@KristinKali if you watch the full version ( you cut about 2.5 mins on this one,) you will bot only hear Bruce's full vocal range but also hear how theatrical and emotional this song really is. From the expectations on the dock of the new life ahead to the horror of the mid ocean storm to the final realisation that he will never live the new life he wanted. Almost pilgrim fathers type journey.

Like many have mentioned the beginning part of this song is integral to setting up the story but at the same time this song is amazing no matter where you start. That is the brilliance of Maiden...

Gary Moore Empty Room live in Stockholm 1987. One of greatest solo ever. Entire concert was awesome too.
The live version in Sunrise Florida is some of Bruce's best singing. Completely crushes this song, especially the chorus.
You should listen to the full version with the initial speech...2 points beyond the highest standard of each IM song: the bass line of Steve Harris in the main rhythm (you can see his fingers job) and the passion of each member of the band through whole song

The intro to the song has a slow moody feel whilst bruce tells the story.
Overall Bruce just nails this, even though he had throat cancer at the time without knowing it.

Who ever butchered and castratet this epic song for a so called "short version" should be keelhauled at once.
In editing this song the most epic part - the story - has effectively been lost. A waste.
