How sharp are your stabbing tools? Do they have a razor sharp edge? Or is the angle of keenness more like a cold chisel than a wood chisel? i.e., 45º vs. 30º?
I like your detail sander, too. Hope it's on the schedule for a show and tell.
Great video, Paul. It's very enjoyable to watch and learn the details of such an intricate process.

I enjoyed your presentation and learned a lot about the subject. Just a note that you should be aware of and that is that there is a difference between an oval and an ellipse. I think you are referring to an ellipse rather than an oval in this demonstration.

If you are referring to the exact-o knife and the 3 other tools???? The xacto-o tool any hobby store the 2 stabbing tools and side chisel were made from 01 tool steel. I will be doing a video on on making stabbing tools and custom carving tools soon.

I frequently modify carving tools to the desired shape that is needed to do the task. The video on wire inlay and sharpening a V gouge shows a modified silicone polishing disk I modified by adding Velcro and sanding disk , this modification is a great tool for reshaping carving tools .
