hya James , I always worked by myself since my early twenties , was lucky we only use 8x4 boards in uk and Ireland , always used a couple of dead men for ceilings, worked with another tacked for the past couple of years on and off , now 66 years young , still throwing them up , love it . takecare and all the best to you and the missus.

I'm also a sub in California and yes it's hard working with the prices on the market nowadays but once you get used to the routine it's hard to get rid of it.

No update. Everyone is doing their own thing and I dont expect to have anyone from the old crew join me.
I'll be adding some new guys when I find the right person/persons to train but for now I'm happy just working with the wife.

Dam Its only .22 out here. Kinda sucks but I can film on the job and I know contractors here. Might have to hit you up if/when we come back.
Damn. I'm in upstate NY, and low is .65, and high is $1.00. drywallers are normally getting .75 to hang, and . 75 to finish

Got bored. I make less doing this actually but I wanted to do some more work videos for my subscribers so I'm doing this for a while.
Might go back to the union at the end of the year if these videos are a bust.

So how does that work out there do you sub contractor from the drywall contractor or do you get work and paid straight from the builder ... I rather have the entire thing hang tape texture under one contractor but I know it’s a different layout up there in that Scenario
I sub for a company that subs for the builders. They take care of stock,scrap,tape and texture.
I just show up hang drywall and leave. Doing the whole thing would be cool but I dont have the experience taping and texturing.
Ah ic ... cool beans is it just one drywall contractor you sub contract for or do you work with a few threw the season or whatever ...
I have about 3 I do work for but 1 that I mainly work for and only use the other 2 to fill in any lull time between jobs.
Go take a peak at my boy calzada drywall on CZcams he was hanging lids alone on big house high peaks for a while he just got a panel left last week dudes a hard worker like you... he ain’t got now crew just himself and I think he likes it .. 😆
