I don’t understand the negativity about this! I can’t afford the 990 but I can appreciate the insane craftsmanship of that machine! I just bought my first Bernina- a preowned 780 because that’s what I can afford and I’m so excited about it. I love your videos, they have been so helpful. And to those of you that can grab a 990 I hope you thoroughly enjoy it! I’ll be watching the videos on it while I’m plugging away on my 780. I too, am glad you said something about the naysayers. When I read the comments on your last post, I was dismayed and disheartened by those negative comments. I wanted to make a comment to those people that they should remember. There are a lot of real people behind the scenes who worked hard on this, and that they comments would be very hurtful to those people, it’s just not nice or kind. In the end, I decided not to engage those people in an online platform. But I’m glad you said something. Have fun with the lunch! Unfortunately, I cannot afford nor do I need another machine right now, but I am excited about the new features Bernina hasintroduced.

I’m blown away by all the features, but I think the machine is shall we say not quite as 2:35 gorgeous as the usual Bernita but if it comes down to the point, I get one I know all kinds of beautiful decals. I would love to get. There was a lady that made skins, but I don’t think she is anymore and they were gorgeous. You could have any machine appearance she wanted. I hope someone does that again. I live in Scotland and am contemplating purchasing this rendition of the latest and greatest Bernina (currently have a 790) and wonder what this machine can offer that the 790 does not (besides the really large embroidery hoop and cool tablet)? I will need to purchase a new cabinet as well because the Horn cabinet I have for the 790 will not fit the 990. I basically use my 790 now for straight stitching, some zigzag and every now and then, some embroidery. What is the 'I HAVE TO HAVE IT' factor to go into debt for the 990? Just trying to be a good steward of my finances as I am also paying off a longarm machine; however, when I saw your video of the 990, I got the tingles about this new machine, ya know??? Thank you!!!
Another question: so with the Wifi functionality, can I order an embroidery design from a company on the internet (say, OESD for example) and send it right to my Bernina without having to download the design to a USB stick and then upload it to the machine?? Which formatting platform will the 990 be using? Thanks.
@@elizabethk8938 have you checked with your dealer? At BERNINA of Naperville we offer a program where you can upgrade your machine to a higher model within 12 months for the full purchase process you paid of the machine.

Gayle, why didn't they just put a window in the straight stitch plate like in the 5mm plate? There is no reason they couldn't. There would be no reason for a separate BSR foot and the price would be lowered by around $1000. No one I've asked can answer why this was done.
Initially, they were not sure that the BSR would be integrated. Then they made it happen. I expect that there will come a time when the straight stitch plate will have an integrated BISR version.

@@happytraveller8953 yes! The B 990 takes all formats except .art and even accepts new Longarm quilting formats.
