      I have had my Ranger RT178 for 1 year now. It is a 2021. I love the boat but it leaks. I don't know where the water is coming in from but when I loud the boat onto the trailer and take out the rear pug: about 1 gallon of water comes out. The livewell is closed. I don't keep fish. I use it for storage. It is strange, I take off knowing it is dry down there but when I come in, all that water drains out. I got a leak somewhere but it is a mystery even tooday. 03/01/2022. Please help.

    I love how all these people love these boats and about all the quality, and my 2015 Rt188 has been nothing but a nightmare, it fishes great, Merc is awesome, everything but the hull, I’ve had two cracks on my transom sent it back and they fixed it, but 2 months later there’s a 12” crack along one of the welds on my keel on the bottom of my boat, so, gotta send it back and be without a boat, not impressed, and tired of paying a monthly payment for a boat I can’t use.!

    fiberglass console is cost savings measure. its the same as in the glass boats. It also looks silly on the aluminum boats. the extrusion weld on the keel and gunnel is a weak seem compared to any other quality manufacture. Just go around to any boat show and talk to the dealers.

      Frank Mcchesney I just bought a rt188 today. One of the best boats on the water. I did talk to dealers, about 10 and none said ranger was bad. They said there were other good brands not only ranger. Ranger is solid as hell with great customer service and great boats.

      I used to work at a machine design and manufacturing plant and one of the machines was a packaging machine for rubber gloves another was for condoms.
      All of the condoms and gloves were made in the plant and shipped over for packaging in 55 gallon drums.
      They were then packaged in the “sellers” wrapping.
      Long story short, sheik, Trojan, generic freebies you get from the clinic are all the same PERIOD
      A Chevy, a GMC, and a Cadillac all are the same except for the finish’s after base construction.
      A Tracker Targa and a Ranger deep V are the same hull with different finishes after being built.
      They are both sold by the same company white water marine.
      A Tracker is the Chevy, the Ranger is the Cadillac.
      The hulls are the same, look at them closely for yourself

    • @JS-rp7qb
      @JS-rp7qb Před 4 lety

      It’s closed cell foam. All marine foams are these days. They should never “get wet” as they don’t really absorb anything beyond about 1.2% of their own weight.

    • @Resistculturaldecline

    Oh boy, a foam injected jon boat. Don't get any salt water in there..........I'll never get it, if your gonna build it with any substantial deck structure, build it 21' so your subject to the USCG. Build the substucture as to generate air/water tight voids. Then you have a BOAT instead of a time bomb.

I work in the truck tanker industry welding aluminum and that boat wouldn’t pass a piss test in my world. Damn that was awful! Here’s a tip for you. If you start a weld. Finish it. Don’t start and stop. That’s called a tack weld and your boats are all tack welded. Garbage welding at its finest. 🤮
