One of the best things about your channel is not only the amazing scenery but the little history lessons thrown in! Very interesting to hear these things. 😃
Oh man I live in a place that's like 40 minutes away from there but Ive never been there yet. I gotta visit on my next day off!
Awesome!! Thank you for sharing such beautiful places!
Another spot added to my list places to visit.
Beautiful 🤩
Thank you for emphasising the difference between gebeki and genbeki. I would be that's person who mixed them up otherwise. Great video as always
First 😏
I plan on visiting Genbikei Gorge ! First saw it from Abroad then TokyoLens and now you , makes me want to go there even more every time I see it
Wow so beautiful
Awesome sights, great quick video!
Always good to add new places to the bucket-list, thanks :)
Thank you for the history lessons! And for the pretty pictures!
What a lovely river that is! One can’t help but wonder if it might be home to Japan’s iwana char or the yamame trout (tenkara anglers wonder about such things).
I don't know about that river in particular for fishing, but there are tons of mountain streams around here where people do fish for iwana char and yamame trout! Lots of tenkara enthusiasts up here!
Love this video! Hiking up Mt. Mitchell in North Carolina soon and I’ve been watching all your hiking videos. Mt. M is very close in height to Mt. Iwate.
Starting Monday on the positive note with Quinlan's videos :)
Thank you for the history and views! Magical 🤩
love you Quinlan
Good ^^
That gorge looks a bit like Marmorslottet, the 'marble castle' along a river in northern Norway (which I also only know from the internet). I'd like to visit both of these sights as well as this Hiraizumi you keep mentioning! I've heard of that before but I don't remember what's there 😬
BEAUTIFUL PLACES . THANKS
I know it might be difficult and time consuming, but I wish your videos were longer! They're all so beautifully shot and your voice is very soothing. Absolutely love your videos
Yeah, sorry about how short this one is! I'll be releasing another video in a couple days and the next several after this will be longer!
@@GoNorthJapan Don't be sorry! I know sometimes it can't be helped, or you're busy, or whatever the case! It's your content and it's still very much loved and appreciated!
This is all lovely
Thank you!
Genbikei looks a bit like Nezame-no-toko, another green flag on my map. Gorge-ous (sorry... 🙇♂️) 🟩
Lol nice!
omg I'm not the only one? Literally every temple a vlogger visits gets a Gmaps green flag.
Good looking temples, onsens rivers & waterfalls, highly significant historical locations, architectural landmarks... If Google didn't make them invisible most of the time I'd have to switch them off manually, as you wouldn't be able to see anything... 😅
20k and rising :) keep it up
Up up up!
Thank you for you introduced about my town.
You came in Ichinoseki.
I was surprised🥳
and You are familiar with there than me.😂
I hit both Hiraizumi and Genbikei on my 2019 trip to Japan but my primary goal was to see Sekinoichi Brewing/Iwatekura Beer and visit the owner who I met when he was in Portland. I would recommend all three. I'm sorry to have missed the temple, but it looks like it might require a car to get to it.
Yeah, you'd need a car or to use the bus. And beer travel is great, nice!
At the rate you're going Quinlan san I'm going to have to move to Honshu to see all this stuff!!
My must-visit-list just keeps getting longer and longer 😅. I also hope that I can meet you one day because the way you talk about the history and other features of different locations and places is absolutely fascinating. 😊

If you live in Iwate, I would like you to do a video about traditional lacquer wear crafts and preserving lacquer-tree by planting.
Great idea!

Ohh, that gorge is very cool. Do people ever go in it during summer? That shrine is on my list to visit too. I know I would love both these places. :-)
The current is actually pretty fast in the river and probably you're not allowed... but I do see the temptation to jump in!
American?
Yes, I'm American!
@@GoNorthJapan I love an American.
Beautiful 🤩
