Aquaman features the GE Merlin RO1000 Tankless reverse osmosis system (product update: This product has been replaced by the Evolution-RO1000.)
This system is a tankless continuous production system capable of producing 750 to 1000 gallons per 24 hour day with a very low 2 to 1 waste water rejection ratio, making it a very efficient system. It is technically a residential system, but capable of handling light commercial applications. They are popular with hydroponic gardeners and maple syrup manufacturers.
Aquaman is a Water Quality Association Certified Water Specialist. His training and experience have given him a deep understanding of water chemistry and water purification equipment.

@cdh3380 That may very well be, as this video is 2 years old now. In fact, the Merlin has been discontinued and replaced by the Evolution 1000 RO. The Evolution is a significant improvement in this technology and has eliminatged some of the known issues common to the Merlin.

Just FYI everyone, the Merlin has been discontinued and replaced by the Evolution RO 1000. The new Evolution RO 1000 is a significant improvement on the Merlin in terms of performance and especially reliability. the Merlin had frequent manifold failures which GE knew about, but refused to fix. Instead they DC'd the Merlin and brought out the Evolution. The number of manifold issues has gone down substantially and the new unit is much more reliable than the Merlin.

@tom6431 If the GXRV10ABL is an RO system, then you need a TDS meter to test the membrane efficiency. We have a video for the ZT-2 TDS meter that you should watch.

@nixsun It's definitely worth it. Sediment filters are cheap compared to carbon filter. Your carbon filter will last longer with a sediment pre-filter and ultimately save you money.

@agatha1218 I have a # of questions. How old are the membranes that are currently installed? Have you been faithfully changing the pre and post filters? What is the incoming pressure to the Merlin? Are you ABSOLUTELY certain the correct water lines are connected to the faucet (this is critical!)?
Let me know and we will go from there.

Like I said, the Merlin has been discontinued by GE. They still sell replacement parts, but the system has been replaced by the Evolution RO 1000 which is a significant improvement from the Merlin.

I think the Evolution RO 1000 is manufactured by Pentair for Hydrologic, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

@23613691 This is a common misconception. See the Water Filters dot NET (have to spell it out, because CZcams will not allow internet addresses in these comments) blog titled The TRUTH About Demineralized Water. That will set the record straight for anyone confused about this issue.

You can believe it all you like, but it's still a myth. Several studies have been done on this subject, most notably one sponsored by the United Nations in concert with the World Health Organization. All of these studies agree on the essential truth that pure (meaning demineralized) water is harmless for those eating a healthy diet.
