Memphis giants of jazz share the stage of the historic Overton Park Shell from this 1980s performance. Herman Green on sax, Phineas Newborn, Jr. (piano), and Calvin Newborn (guitar) are joined by Nokie Taylor (cornet) Erroll Thomas (bass) and Jeff Grayer (drums). Truly an all-star line-up from one of the great musical capitals of the world. It's two songs back to back. The first tune was supposed to be "Poinciana", but there were some wrong melody notes and chords. The original version is in the key of G, but he was trying to play it in Eb major (F on tenor) which is, perhaps, where the confusion began.
