Today we build a 5x5 piston door which was hugely complicated! This thing was a bit of a challenge and it took a very long time, but we managed to get it done!

Look up smallest 10x10 use that circuit it will help A LOT
He should learn to use slimeless flying machines himself. Not take someone else's design. He should look at it and try to replicate it, but not block-for-block copy so he at least knows what he is building.

You could fit a 10x63 (3 wide) in that space.
You could fit 6 10x10s (2 wide) in that space.

You could fit 5 7x7s (Observerless) in that space.

Dawson Eddy Great work on a 5x5 that is 8400 blocks? You could fit over 1000 working 3x3s (although the 3x3s wouldn't work due to density) in that space.

Depends you never said no mods lol. With mods, you need but 5 pieces of Redstone, and that is about it Well I guess 5x6 so yeah not entirely possible but it could be.

Without slime block flying machines, that's literally not possible, and even then, slime blocks and pistons will be visible...
Unless...
Okay, so you have cobble generators on top and bottom (or the sides) and for closing, they push cobble into the door. You'd even have a 2 block margin to hide it in the wall. That's closing done. Now for opening, you could have slime block flying machines move in one of the directions and sweep the blocks away in 1x10 chunks if it's doable or 1x(7-9) chunks if not. The blocks are then focused into a stream thin enough to be pushed into a wither destroying chamber, since that's the only way to break blocks. Alternatively, if you have available silver fish, you could theoretically have smooth stone (though it would complicate things and might make it impossible) and then have silverfish crawl into it, and then you could throw a snow ball at a silver fish to make them all crawl out again, destroying the blocks, but that's going to be finicky. I think it would work.
You should make a 1x2 door. Aka wooden door. Pretty simple and super compact

Just tried it. The problem is, the flying machines have trouble staying in a straight line in 4 chunks.
Jake Plays Piano For me its looks very hard to make a door out of flying machines my redstone skills are good im capable of farms,piston doors,sorters etc., but if someone makes a 50×50 door out of flying machines then i will be amazed.Good luck!

Just built my first one today, It's 7x9x18 at 1134 blocks using the standard layout with the Quad at the top and the Triple at the bottom, I will make some sort of explanation or tutorial if I feel like it
In java my first one is 918 blocks now i have 540 Blocks

He made a video on the contraption but it was very unclear to me what exactly did he do. Many parts of the process were not shown and all the others were very quick and unexplained. I'm not saying the video was bad. It was just not a tutorial.

Important information: redefine functions a lot like coding, so the “real redstone” is called computers. It’s a lot like lines of code represented in visuals. With different type of logic gates etc.

Your door can already be a 6 x 6 piston door, because you had to spit out the bottom blocks to make it the right size. So if jou didn't do that it will be a 6 x whatever you fancy door.

The challenge is making the largest PISTON door which means no slime blocks and no sand

Wolfy Central Gaming Putting the pistons on the sides would just make it harder. The smallest 5x5 is around 380 blocks in volume, and uses the sides for only the first columns, and the center is done from the top and bottom.
I'm not saying it should all be sideways, just to make it with less resources.
