Just to provide a mini review/testimonial: I’ve been going through Eric’s C70 course for the last week or two and it’s incredibly well-made and well-thought out. I had previously bought a much more expensive C70 masterclass because that was all I could find and I had my very first documentary interview shoot coming up, but this course was substantially more informative and more enjoyable - extremely good value for money and I would highly recommend this for any new C70 users and even folks who have a pretty good grasp of the camera but perhaps haven’t kept up with all the firmware updates and want to get an up-to-date view and deep dive on getting the most out of TODAY’s C70 🔥
I just graduated from Eric's C70 class and I learned a lot. Eric is an excellent teacher and he knows his stuff. Some of the lessons really struck a chord with me. Other lessons I had to watch and rewatch a few times to have it all sink in. The Canon C70 has been a great addition to my kit. That said, I believe that the return on investment I get from education is always a lot greater than the return on investment in gear. In the past I have studied with Onne van der Wal, Peter Hurley, Joe McNally, Peter Coulson, and Rubidium Wu. Eric Walker is just as good a teacher as all of those folks and I highly recommend his course to anyone who wants to get up to speed on the C70 quickly. There are a lot of people on social media who are obsessed with gear. As a working DP, Eric's view on the C70 and budget friendly accessories is practical and actionable. I just had my first production with the Canon C70 with RF glass as B camera. It held its own next to A camera, a Sony Venice 2 with Zeiss primes. The C70 is a great camera. Do yourself a favor and invest a little bit in education so you get the most out of it.

That sinking feeling during your explanation of the file-type indexing in the media menu. Ugh. I'm sure I've erased stuff I wanted to keep. A simple "All" choice would be a great addition. Live and learn. Thanks for the info.

Do you have a quick way of going from 50fps (normal mode) to 100/25 (S&F mode)? Even with custom buttons I have to:
1) Switch to S&F
2) Switch to 25fps
3 Set S&F rate to 100
Any way to jump straight to 100/25 with one button press?

I cannot figure out how to get the recording time of the current recording displayed on the OSS... Only the option to have the timecode running or not.

Quick question: Base ISO for Clog 2 is 800, but if you shoot without Clog2 should the ISO still be set to 800 for best results, or will a lower ISO be beneficial in terms of reduced noise?

As the man with much C70 knowledge!! Can you please tell me if there’s a way for audio to use ch1 for shotgun mic+ ch3 for its safety track, and then ch2 for lav +ch 4 for its safety track. That way you could use the 2 physical dials to control the separate audio sources and not have to dive into menus? I appreciate your content!!
Good idea for a course. So many manufacturers have a gap in their learning approach to marketing. Given the endless pages of menus on canon cameras it’s good to have a way to jump in without the pain of learning by trial and error.

Can the C70 get a sharper image? I find it really soft which I like, but there are times id like it sharper
get a sharper lens, i use th 35mm 1.8 & it sharpens it up alot for me.

I love this camera and own several but my only big complaint is that stupid fragile monitor. Why Canon, why?
