    I live in NYC, agree with your points, and am so tired with the obsession over it. It's an iconic city but it's not the only one like that, Chicago is very similar and actually much cheaper. Not sure what happened but many people don't even think about moving there now, it's all about NYC or LA. Due to the high cost, NYC ends up attracting a disproportionate amount of young people with well off parents or who went to top schools, which really distorts the social life and personalities we encounter. They can afford the high prices on everything, for social life, and to keep on top of every new trend. There are many generational ethnic enclave people too but they have their own bubbles separate from single people that move to the city. It may get worse due to retro trends, with NYC being seen as the center of coolness in the early 2000s, which led to a large influx of people making the rent skyrocket even faster, which has been an issue for awhile now but especially bad recently.

      Lmao I live in Chicago and it is not very similar. Our transit is way less reliable, our restaurant and theater scenes is second tier to NY, we don't get the same amount of options when it comes to culture festivals. We visited for the first time in June and I loved it. Everyone was very kind. They could tell we were from CA so we kept hearing about “Cali” 😂 as they call it. We were offered drugs on Wall Street, we solicited for money on the subway in the most dramatic theatrical way, and the city did stink…not to mention spiderman on Times Square was incredibly rude compared to our spiderman on Hollywood Blvd, but I enjoyed visiting. Don’t think I’d want to live there. 2 days was enough. I could see myself living in Brooklyn for a little bit though. Brooklyn was nice. But then again, we were only there a couple days.

    Hi, native New York here. Born and raised. I left when I was 18 because, among other reasons, I hated it there and I’ve never moved back. I never will. Perhaps you’ve heard this little adage: The second hardest thing in the world to do is to convince a New Yorker to leave New York City. The hardest thing in the world to do is to convince him to move back.

    • @schoe6309

I do watch videos about New York City from time to time, particularly those posted by Cash Jordan and it seems like New York City is returning to the cesspool it was when I grew up in the 1970s and the 1980s. If you want my advice young lady, get out while you are young and beautiful. New York City will make you hard and grizzled.

    • @MrSethmo13
      @MrSethmo13 Před 6 dny

      @@1525boy I don’t mean to argue with you, but I am curious. Did you experience New York City in the 1970s in the 1980s? I watch videos about New York City nowadays and I am hearing CZcamsrs make remarks like “the subways just aren’t safe anymore“. Back in the 1970s and the 1980s, it was well known that the subways were a mugger’s paradise. You didn’t dare ride the subways alone at night, and if you did, you were taking your life in your own hands. The subways of the 1970s in the 1980s gave rise to the Guardian Angels, a group of volunteer vigilantes with martial arts training that would patrol the subways after dark to protect riders from the very well known threat of violent attacks by muggers and thieves. And it wasn’t just the subways. In 1974, at the tender age of eight, I was mugged for the first time in my own neighborhood in broad daylight on a Sunday afternoon. And that was just the first of several such incidents, the last of which entailed me being mugged at knife point in broad daylight at the age of 17 in 1983, again in my own neighborhood. So I’m curious, if you experienced New York City back in the 1970s and the 1980s and if you still reside there today, that would give a lot of credibility to your opinion that things are worse now. But if you are much younger than me and if you have only experienced New York City over the past 20 years, I think you lack the basis for making a reliable comparison/assessment. I would suggest that you go to your Google search engine and type in the following search:
      “in terms of crime, is New York City worse now than it was in the 1970s in the 1980s?”
      When you’ve done that, you will have an objective answer that resolves this dispute once and for all.

    The reason is
    1. Your video is not being SEO properly
    2. Your video is not reaching the right people
    3. Not using video hashtags properly
    4. Not sharing the video on social media
    There are a few more reasons.
