Supertreffer

In 1991 I won for the second time a FISM award in the category "Card Magic". Soon after that Kurt Felix (Switzerland's TV-personality nr. 1 at that time) himself (!) called me up, saying he had read about my winning that FISM competition, and that he wanted to book me with that act into his second to last Saturday evening prime time TV show "Supertreffer". On the set I made a remark about the fee, whereupon I was told that I got more than Tina Turner, who was on the same show. Only later did I realize that she, of course, would sell thousands of CD the next day, ultimately getting a hundred times more than I got, at least :-) The people sitting at my performance table are Pepe Lienhard and musicians/singer from his band (Lienhard was Udo Jürgens' favorite bandleader, and to this day is one of Switzeralnd's most successful musicians). I worked together with them a few times, and remember that my agent told me they got $ 150'000 together for a private gig. We magicians get less than half as much :-)
