Nothing arrogant about achieving. Go get ‘em!
Great thing about Capt. Keith, is he will be straight forward and transparent. Do not ask him a question if you are easily butt hurt.
That doesn't sound arrogant or cocky at all. It just sounds like a basic entrepreneurial perspective. Thanks for that. Love you guys!
So proud of you Dad ...... young can do what make them happy and earn money for living.....
Respect Keith. I don't know if I necessarily agree with everything you said, but the bottom line is you know what you know (and you know it well obviously) and you feel it's the most valuable for your kids. You're doing what you think is right as a father and I think what you're teaching your kids by sailing the world and running a youtube channel is invaluable for child development. Well done sir.
Love your straight forward no bullshit delivery!
You are awesome parents! Teaching your children about community, the world, healthy relationships, how to live as free as possible. You are all an inspiration.
Loving these sporadic uploads throughout the week. Thursday is just too far away sometimes!
There are many paths to success - but they all start with humbleness, hard work, patience and grit. I am not an entrepreneur- but I am an amazing employee who can take the concept to success. Keith as we have all witnessed has strengths in figuring stuff out - some of the things he can watch a video for and then go do - wouldn’t work for me but I have my own skills of things that may be easier for me than most people...
I don't find you arrogant at all, you've worked hard in your previous land life and living life now!! We love your videos and watching the kids grow in this environment
I had straight A's in school. I took every math and science class there was available to me. I was planning university education but couldn't afford it. Turns out- that wasn't a bad thing. I missed out on 5 years of student loans and instead earned a living for those years. That put me 10 years ahead of my friends who came out of university and ended up working next to me in some cases because the couldn't get work in their chosen field. So, yeah Keith. Teach your kids to work hard and to look for the opportunities. Be flexible! Your boys have talent. That's clear. Anna is already taking charge. Kate is going to be another star.
Was not a fan from “day 1” I came across Z-channel, but I must say - your no-nonsense approach to doing things and independent thinking is definitely growing on me 👍🏻
I know exactly what Keith means. My brother went to college got his bachelors and masters. I joined the Army right out of high school, over time became a warrant officer and got involved in Risk Management. Without spending $1 on “higher education” I easily make upwards of 5 times my brothers annual income. In fact I subsidize him with a annual housing allowance so he doesn’t have to live paycheck to paycheck. Keep doing what you do Keith
You are a good man for helping your family Bro.
How did you get into Risk Management? If you dont mind me asking.
Keith, you dont need to explain yourself to anyone including the haters... but sharing your views, opinions and philosophy on life and education for your family is fantastic and inspiring... so nice to here from someone like you that your basically ripping up the Rule book to "normal" life... Keep doing what your doing and being who you are.. Its what makes the Z Crew so great to follow...
See you out there on the water! 😉🌏🏝🏖🐬🐟⛵
you are so right, keep on truckin Z crew
Well Pappa Bear, this video should wake a LOT of people up and see a possibility of what they "don't know they don't know" and build a bridge to get there allowing them the freedoms in life otherwise not known to them. Great video buddy. Keep it up!
Wasn’t arrogant at all. I agree 100% with you. I am in a University right now and I feel as if I’m not learning any valuable skills at all. I ask myself everyday is it even worth it to be here doing something that I know deep in my heart won’t make me feel fulfilled and have a life full of adventure and freedom just like you guys. College education just isn’t the same and the investment in college in my opinion is worthless for some people. You are doing a great thing for your kids and I commend you. We need more parents like you.
Every now and again there is a quote that forces you to stop and evaluate what you do, how you do it and just a pause for thought. Your comment of "Do what you have to, until you can afford to do what you want to"..... Thank you !!
Keith, you and your wife are giving your children and yourself the best education of all , Planet Earth , Nature is your best teacher . It is Nature that makes you wholesome and free.
One important part of sharing the revenue with the kids is that they have skin in the fight of generating it. They willingly cooperate and seem to enjoy making the content. They learn skills and they also see what resonates with people.
I 100% agree with your advice. Been homeschooling 10+ years now and neither of my kids were told they have to go to college. One is in college to become a nurse. The other is still in high school. We have also loved all the closeness homeschooling has brought us as a family. I get the sailing lifestyle and would love to do it someday. Really enjoying all of your videos and thanks for sharing your lives publicly.
Totally agree with your point of view - best thing I ever did was ditch college - 30 years later got my own companies, employing staff - good for you
An open minded honest man. 👍 Lucky family.
thank you for all of the great vids! be safe and keep up the great vids!
I have recently discovered your channel, and I’m enjoying it very much. I am nearly 70 years old and have raised 4 daughters that all have learned like you say
Oh Keith, you're right on with your views of education and what you want for your kids. Some people are leaders and some are followers. Some people let other people think for them and others think for themselves. You did good and are now reaping the benefits.....good for you.
Very refreshing to hear your answer about how you are educating the kids Keith. The reality is, regarding the education system, one size does not fit all. More parents from what I can see are waking up to the fact but you are definitely ahead of the curve.
Totally agree on how you’re raising your kids! Out of the box thinkers.
My husband quit his job after 25 yrs, same employer. He was burnt out!!! had no experience and we bought property and built a tiny home off grid, learned everything from you tube. I hated school-it’s all about enjoying what you love to do. We are so much more happier. Love what you and your family are doing.
love talking to keith and listening to keith!
His intent is not arrogant or cocky. At least I don’t believe it is. He is breaking the “standard” of go to school get a job. He wants his kids to do things in a way that get them what they need and in turn leads to getting what they want. I respect this man a lot. Enough that I’m watching all the ads through.
My Dad always told me that the "A" students teach the "B" students how to work for the "C" students. I did go to college and graduated top of my class with top honors. I often think it did nothing for me, but in college, I learned to be a badass illustrator. Now I am taking those skills and putting them to work for me in a business that will continue to pay me as I take to the water on a sailboat. That said, I didn't need the damn degree to do what I am doing, and I wouldn't recommend anyone spending money on college unless you need to.
Same here, but I run multi million dollar construction projects with a degree in computers... Go figure :)
Especially being that most colleges are really just reprogramming schools and producing democrats.
Grades don’t necessarily show that you know what you need to, only that you can jump through someone else hoops the way they want you to. Grades also don’t determine your character, work ethic or even how smart you really are and in most cases, your grades only matter in school. After that when you graduate, they don’t matter. Your job isn’t going to care what you got for a GPA, only that you got your degree and anyone can do so by doing the bare minimum to graduate if they wanted to.
Your father obviously listened to a lot of Robert Kiyosaki's content....... "The A students work for the C students.. and the B students work for the government." ... ; )
An education only says what you have done not what you are capable of, when you life and think in the box you don't use all of your capabilities to be all that you are.
So, i love that you teach them to think outside the box. It will make them happy, stable, balanced and loving human beings. Good job dad!
Keith, you are teaching your kids the Classic approach to education.
It wasn’t arrogant at all. Wish someone had taught me that when I was younger. But never too old to learn. Awesome Q&A, you guys stay safe. You bring a smile to my face each week!!
Keith, you are exactly right. These past 50 yrs, going to school (high school thru grad school); students get indoctrinated into what the school wants you to know, not what the world is or how it operates. Since college, my jobs have taken me all over 2 hemispheres, and I can't agree more with your sentiment. I sincerely admire your channel and your family(missing seeing Miss Anna, but looking forward to Finn and adorable Miss Kate stepping up to the tasks ahead).
Hello!! I love watching you guys! I’m a 15 year old girl who loves being on boats as well. Anything outdoors you can count me in! I always look forward to watching you guys! ❤️
You are 100% American! Strive for whatever makes you happy. No other country on earth offers that opportunity! Nicely done
As always, thanks for sharing. Y''all are an inspiration.
Nailed it. The A students generally always work for the B and C students. Learnt that off Robert Kiyosaki. I have also found this to be true. Left school the day I turned 15 but never stopped learning. Retired at age 48 after creating my own business pretty much from scratch. I think your strategy is perfect for ensuring that your kids grow up into fully functioning independent adults.
What business did you build? I'm just asking out of legitimate curiosity. Also interested in how you managed to start it up, if you're interested in sharing of course. Thanks regardless of if you can answer or not!
@@King_WhiteWolf I was a tradie. Roof plumbing was my game. Made it my business to become the best that I could be. Thus, I never competed in the market place. I became a price setter rather than a price maker. Became known for solving seemingly intractable problems. Leveraged my income into property. Ended up with a large industrial complex which underpinned my business. Now those rents support me and my endeavours. Not that hard. If I can do it then anyone can.
@@philbox4566 Hi Phil I wanted to sincerely thank you very much for responding! Your answer helps a lot, as it adds affirmation to my belief that property has very real potential as a vehicle to building a foundation of wealth. I don't by any means view it as an easy way to get rich (I think that mentality is a total pipe dream), but as being something I can legitimately understand and something I can get my foot in the door of.
Your mention of the trades also is very relevant to me, and I wondered if you might entertain another question? For context, I actually originally wanted to build the base of funds necessary to get into property by way of the trades. However I am somewhat restricted in what I can do physically because of heart valve issues which have so far required three open heart surgeries to correct (I'm 33 if it matters). This limits my ability to do physical labor, but not entirely.
My question is, given your experience in such trades, do you believe one with limits on physical exertion can still prosper in traditional trade labors, so long as he aspires for excellence in his work? I have doubted myself due to these limitations, hence the question.
Again, thank you for your time!
@@King_WhiteWolf As far as tradesman type work goes. Working smarter always pays far more dividends than working harder. For someone with limited physical capabilities I'd think that that type of person should pursue a more technical type trade, think IT hardware.
@@philbox4566 Understood. Thanks again for your time and advice! It is very much appreciated.
I sincerely agree with your view on the education - I for one know that I am the example of getting pounded with the education system and then molded me into working for the system and I am now stuck in the rat race for the past 21 years and realized it too late. Now, I am making sure that my kids will not follow my path rather to look at opportunity and be street smart about it. This is help them in the long run so I'm glad that I am on the right track with my kids when I hear you said the same. Thank you and stay safe!
KEITH - I agree with you 100%. I grew up with a huge, close, big, loyal, Midwest Italian Family where EDUCATION is like the “Go To” in order to become successful. Fast forward, I am 35 with a Masters Degree in HOSPITALITY, yes the industry wipes off the map bc of COVID-19. This was it, I AM OVER WORKING FOR SOMEONE ELSE, and view higher education the same way as you do. I just started my own business. Time to make that money and be my own boss on my own terms!!! I am over making money for someone else!!!
I raise my hat to you to teach them that way
They will have something at the end
A good example rich dad poor dad book
Rock on
Joel Delamirande i was thinking the same thing
The most important thing is to talk about money or what to do with it
They don’t teach that in school
Amen brother, I am 3rd generation Oilfield and joined the service right after High School (had a little trouble with the law, hey its small town Texas). Anyway after 8 years and then back in the Oil & Gas industry (mid-stream) we are working hard to cross that point of having to sacrifice family time for pay to being able to enjoy one another. I am in senior management now and have young guys with college degrees under their belt, yet they still require lots of mentoring.......maybe some day common sense can be taught in a classroom....FYI I do have some guys that started out "Slinging Iron" and then went to school....those are my are my up and coming super stars.....you guys be safe, hope to see you soon on the water
You guys are a dream team wish I could sail the world like you guys
Build a strategy to make money on your money which takes focus and basic living.
You can but only depends on your mentality
@@Morrisontravels also depends on how bad you want it. I loaned my money and I get an interest back, that compounds and soon I will achieve my goals. The more I earn the more I loan. Took me 15 years but it's happening. The earnings after 10 years to get started and 5 years to grow will allow me an income.
HECK I'd just like to hang out with them a while!
James Tervit I work pipeline and I make roughly 2,500 a week once I become a Opertor I’ll make 3,500 a week. I don’t plan on doing this job forever but I do plan on taking a year off and traveling the world. Last year I took 6 months off and went to 25 states and 2 coasts and just visited some states I wanted and slept on the beach and relaxed.
Love the honesty, Keith! As entrepreneurs, we also feel college is overrated (not to mention overly expensive) if you're not planning to use your degree. Just living your lives and letting so many people see that there are alternatives to the conformity that we're steeped in as a society - that's a blessing all the way around. Cheers and fair winds!
Keith you are so RIGHT about making money
Maaaan , we vê been doing the CZcams sailing thing for a while, but you mastered the economy part of it and I learn so much from you. Great vid as usual, take care, hope to have a beer somewhere sometime. All the best
i have binged watched your entire series, sitting in lockdown remembering of my previous life working at sea. you guys look like you're having a blast, I love your get stuck in attitude to life... i'm hooked
It’s amazing what you did to make it happen for your family :) you have inspired me to bring my kids when they are older to do the same. There is just so much value in what you do what you do right now for your children. Thank you so much for posting video every week!
My husband and I are so happy we found you. We watch you just about everyday. God bless you guys. Can’t wait to be out on the water.
Your not arrogant at all! You’re just right!!! I’am applying exactly the same thing for myself, i personnaly don’t think it’s hard to make money! It’s actually quite simple - making money depends on how good your are to see and take advantage of any opportunity ! Your kids and my daughter are gonna be free and gonna feel good about themselves!
I respect your way of thinking! Good job!
Another great and informative video, always enjoy watching.
I have recently discovered your channel and love what you are doing with your children. I am almost 70 now and recently retired but I worked running my own business’ for most of my life. I enjoyed motorcycles , so I opened a motorcycle school and my wife sold my students insurance for their motorcycles. She ran a insurance agency, and I fed her customers from my school. I also grew up in the gun business so I also ran a gun store for the last several years before retirement. Now my grown daughters work for themselves (3 of 4). They are all successful and are their own boss and live like they want. Travel, and real freedom is what you get when you work for yourself. Your time is your most important commodity and getting free time is key. Do your hobby for a job and you will enjoy your work day. Keep it up. Be safe. Dan
Keith you seem to be very confident and capable. It's obvious that you two have instilled those qualities in your children. They seem to be well balanced and not messed up like so many of our youth are nowadays. Keep up the good work!
He is so real. Much respect! He is not a sheep. Thanks for the inspiration.
Here’s for bucking the system!
I was scared at first while speaking with mr veratti 100 on telegram but at last I smile after I withdraw 20k in my PayPal account thanks so much sir
I must say your comment about education and working hits home with me. I'm 35 yrs old never went to college and when I was 20 found a utility job that was safe with good pay but I didn't enjoy the work or people as most were miserable. After 13 years of the same repetition I decided I wanted to be my own boss and make my own schedule and future. Two years ago I opened a home inspection company and couldn't have been happier with my decision. Of course there's ups and downs starting any business but it takes guts to take the "different" path then what we've all be taught. I commend you and your wife for trying to instill that in your children. Best of luck moving forward and safe travels!
Absolutely love you guys ❤️❤️
+Hi Keith, I'm one of the guys who ragged on you about the oil filters. Glad you cleared that up, no problem with fuel filters using old fuel. Love your show, I'm more of a flying nut than boater but love your show anyway.
Thank you for the inspiration and motivation
Thanks for that one...I learn so much from you all! Thanks blessings an love to all!!
I’m a new viewer and just started watching all of your old videos, love your family’s material. I can’t wait till I’m old enough to start my own sailing adventure!
Hey Kieth, Father to Father, I have three daughters and all graduated with the degrees of their choice from Prominent University’s. I have often wondered if that was the right decision but only one of the three is working in the field of study she was interested in. Then you factor in the cost of their education and even worse, the influence of a lot of professors that couldn’t last a day in the real world. I’m a firm believe that people that can do and many people that can’t go into teaching! (If you’re a teacher, don’t get pissed off, 10-20% of you are excellent and this wouldn’t apply to you). Anyway, always enjoy your take on life, sailing and most of all family. Wishing you continued safe and happy adventures with your family and friends!
Keith I love your discussions about entrepreneurship and business! Keep it coming.
Thank God - Love your channel:)
The thing is Keith, you are beaming with confidence, A real man, straight forward, Love your family, and good too all (on your boat).
You have a bigger degree than most,, Enjoy enjoy. :)
That is absolutely true. If you do everything you are "supposed" to do (according to others) you will never have hardly anything for yourself.
love your channel good vibes to you all and blessings..been posting your channel to my family on face book...because you are all inspiring..so it is nice to meet another inspiring individual..
I think that teaching your kids the way you are giving them a big advantage. Keep up the great work.
.... love your comments on the education .... personally feel there is quite a shift happening and who knows what normal will be in a year, 5 years , 10 years ...... never stop dreaming, just dream bigger ... have fun be safe, save our oceans .......
Always enjoy watching your videos
Awesome episode Keith!! I love how out spoken you are and never apologize for being you
Definitely not arrogant. You guys like you said is that you are working around the system to teach a new method and I think all people should look up to this
As usual, wonderfully insightful and useful, delivered with a sense of fun. Love it.
Y'all are lovely family. Love watching. I thank you have good way of teaching your. There plenty of ways to make money.
Very good way to thing love it ! Continue your good work
Keith, your kids will thank you for these life lessons. You are a great example for your family and others out here who want to increase their relationships as a family.
Keith, you're spot on about higher education.
All true ... most of the richest people havnt done higher education.
A mentor of mine once told me that the people who know how will always work for those who know "why".... Thanks to all of you for all your great videos! Keith, especially love your sense of humour and the way you see the world (yes I'm an Aussie and that is the correct way to spell humour :-) ). Cheers from Down Under.
Couldn’t agree more re education. Love your channel, folks.
Love it!!! Rant on brother 💪✊💙💚😎
I’ve commented before but I would like you to know that you, your family, and your videos, have inspired me to change my lifestyle so I can save faster to chase the freedom and lifestyle you have shared. The water has always called me. Cliche I know but it’s true. One day we will see you out there. Keep up the great shows and thanks for sharing your realized dreams with us all!
Hi from California, Sailing Zatara I must say has been one of my favorite CZcams channels to date. I happened across your channel a few weeks ago and have been Binge watching every day and now I’m caught up. What an amazing Journey and wild adventure on the open seas and all the freedom to go wherever you desire. I bet you and your family have learned so much and seen so much in the last four years. I must say your kids are really lucky to have such great parents and to teach them what real living is like in different parts of the world. I bet your kids have learned so much more in the last four years rather than going to a regular public school and my hats off to both of you. The memories you are making now will last a lifetime and will have a lasting impact👍🏻👍🏻. Definitely looking forward to your next sailing VLOG👍🏻🇺🇸❤️
All of you are legends, keep these great videos up guys!
Big fan of your lifestyle! Very good decision to make the Q&A as another video, as well as the way you decide to live your lives and raise your family, very happy to see how you sail around the world!
Hell yes this is better!!! I was wondering on the last show.
Haters going too HATE Keith no matter what you do!!!
You have raised great kids!!!
Your right set it up for your kids!!!
Keep them sailing and let somebody else make them money!!!
You should charge the others out there copying your show!!!
Your family has a great sense of humor...intelligent, sarcastic, and a care free energy not taking yourselves seriously.
Been thinking about this for a while, nice to see this video come out.
so happy that you are doing that with your kids!
Absolutely agree. Education is just one of many paths, you don’t have to take it if it’s not right for you. You need to choose what path YOU want to take. Find your passion and become obsessed with it enough to want and know how to seek out opportunities to live your dreams
Z crew three times a week! WOOP WOOP Please share what sorts of things you teach your kids about finding opportunity and assessing risk. Curious (and broke) minds wanna know!
Keith, you are very realistic and thank God for that.... Agree with you 100%...;
You guys are inspirational, many thoughts towards my future. Thank you for that!
just found your channel so inspiring. I have just sub'd. love how you and your family are doing it your way!!! some of my best friends are incredibly successful, no college, just life experience , lots of hard work, common sense, lots of trial and error and success. way to go !
Great talk about the education etc. I couldn’t agree more.
I agree with you 100%. Love this family. This family is on example of what I like to replicate.
Yes to this so much!! You live life to a fuller purpose when you color outside the lines!!
Love this, Keith!! Going to share this with my business team!! Hope to meet you and the family on day on the water.
It’s pretty crazy how underrated and professional this channel is.
