We’re led to believe our society is progressing and improving. But do a side by side comparison of the town today and it’s very hard to believe that is what is happening.

Alas, a veritable dump. A lot of the people make it a dump. I feel sorry for the decent ones.
My Mum is from Oldham and we lived there in the late seventies before moving to Wales. We lived in Sholver and went to Hodge Clough Juniors. My grandparents lived in Derker, Sydenham street and we'd spend our christmas' there. Lots of fond memories of the place and will visit soon as I have cousins still living there. Is Tommyfield market still there?
Tommyfield markets gone to shit there demolishing the town hall in 2025 to make new flats
