I think now he is bass. Real bass-baritone sing high notes louder than bass, he don't sing low beautiful. High bass lower..

I could be wrong, but I think it has to do with range.
He has a very special kind of voice, basso profondo, or octavist singer. Way lower than bass, or bass-baritone. Often one octave lower. A1 is a must in that range, some go lower. Beside the range, there is a fantastic set of overtones emanate from good octavists.

dean84921 No idea. Most of these little ensembles write their own arrangements for their particular voices. I know that's true of Kovcheg, for example.
