It is said not to pray it like the mighrib prayer. So there are two options. After the second raka'a, don't sit, get up and continue to the third. Then sit on the third. The second option, complete two rakat and salem, then get up and do one alone and salem.

As salam walaikum. when i was around 5 everyone and everywhere the witr namaz was performed like this. last 35 years its changing . you ask 5 maulana's you will get 5 different ways.. not just this but for everything.And also my ABBA jaan was well educated and he had hadiths from 100 of years ago. And now I'm seeing some of the imams just touching on those hadiths. And telling us what he told us regarding the wadu, gusul, namaz, It's just amazing.
I agree. Only Allah knows what is right. But I think it has to do with the fact, that more muslims nowadays are getting educated in Islamic knowledge, from schools all over the world, so they are exposed to more information than what they received from their ancestors or community. I have noticed lately that there are a few differences and arguments in certain areas, amongst the Imams in Middle East and Indian subcontinent. Each one is very confident of their knowledge and too proud to change what they have been believing for hundreds of years. I don't know why.

assalamualaikum, this prayer is invalid. didn't u know that witr is an odd numbered prayer shouldn't be replicated with maghrib prayer?? but if u want to pray 3 rakats of witr prayer, you need to continue the 2 rakats without sitting and should sit in the last rakat. or you can perform 2 rakats of witr prayer with one salam and do seperate 1 rakat prayer with one salam. for details you can visit IRC tv or assimalhakeem's youtube channel. also in the 3rd rakat, there is no such hadith which says to raise takbeer to recite qunoot dua, dont do takbeer but instead raise ur hands like u raise during dua and recite qunoot. these many things should be considered. may allah forgive u oseeka. this comment may benefit others. assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wabarakatuhu.

Jazakom Allah khyran. Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (ﷺ) observed: "There are three (types of) people to whom Allah will neither speak on the Day of Resurrection nor look at them nor purify them, and they will have a painful chastisement." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) repeated it three times. Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him) remarked: "They are ruined. Who are they, O Messenger of Allah?" Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "One who lets down his lower garments (below his ankels) out of arrogance, one who boasts of his favours done to another; and who sells his goods by taking a false oath." [Muslim]. وعن أبي ذر رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " ثلاثة لا يكلمهم الله يوم القيامة ولا ينظر إليهم، ولا يزكيهم ولهم عذاب أليم" قال: فقرأها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ثلاث مرار. قال أبو ذر: خابوا وخسروا من هم يا رسول الله؟ قال: المسبل، والمنان، والمنفق سلعته بالحلف الكاذب" ((رواه مسلم)). وفي رواية له : " المسبل إزاره" يعني: المسبل إزاره وثوبه أسفل من الكعبين للخُيلاء.

I have researched alot about it and have consulted many ulama s including dr zakir , dr israr dr farhat hashmi, advicate faiz etc. 3 rakats of witr needs to be prayed without a break with ONE TASHAHUD AT THE END. Or you can pray 2 rakats ( with tashahud and salam- like normal 2 rakats) and then you have to read 1 rakat with tashahud and salam.
It does have a takbir in the third rakat which differs it. In the hanafi madnab it is structurally similar to maghrib and the way it differs is that there are nafl prayers preceding the witr and not the fard of maghrib. Every madhhab have evidence of their position therefore we should not go aorund saying this is right and this is wrong

Witr should be done without resembling it like maghrib..this is misleading..either do it straight 3 rakaats only sitting and make tashahud in the last rakaat then conclude the prayer or make two rakaats make tashahud then conclude the prayer then make another one rakaat then conclude.thats the way of the prophet.

I thought you don't sit in the second rakah to recite attahiyatu like Maghrib prayer. In the middle east, they never sit for the second rakah and only sit after 3 consecutive rakahs. Very confusing.

There is 2 separate rules for praying witr. They way u r praying, setting only in 3rd rakah, that's also okay. U can search it in CZcams for more information writing, rules of witr by Sheikh Assim Al Hakeem, he is an Arabian Sheikh. & answers only based on Quran & Sunnah with authenticity. It is said not to pray it like the mighrib prayer. So there are two options. After the second raka'a, don't sit, get up and continue to the third. Then sit on the third. The second option, complete two rakat and salem, then get up and do one alone and salem.

I agree. Only Allah knows what is right. But I think it has to do with the fact, that more muslims nowadays are getting educated in Islamic knowledge, from schools all over the world, so they are exposed to more information than what they received from their ancestors or community. I have noticed lately that there are a few differences and arguments in certain areas, amongst the Imams in Middle East and Indian subcontinent. Each one is very confident of their knowledge and too proud to change what they have been believing for hundreds of years. I don't know why.

I have been search for video like this, masyaAllah
assalamualaikum, this prayer is invalid. didn't u know that witr is an odd numbered prayer shouldn't be replicated with maghrib prayer?? but if u want to pray 3 rakats of witr prayer, you need to continue the 2 rakats without sitting and should sit in the last rakat. or you can perform 2 rakats of witr prayer with one salam and do seperate 1 rakat prayer with one salam. for details you can visit IRC tv or assimalhakeem's youtube channel.
also in the 3rd rakat, there is no such hadith which says to raise takbeer to recite qunoot dua, dont do takbeer but instead raise ur hands like u raise during dua and recite qunoot.

Yes! I always stand up the first 2 rakats and the last one I sit. I think all should know that you cant do it as Maghrib ( stand, sit, stand, sit )
Its Hanfi way of praying, its different than maghrib because they do Takbir, but ALLAH KNOWS BEST I am no professional

The Prophet (ﷺ) observed: "There are three (types of) people to whom Allah will neither speak on the Day of Resurrection nor look at them nor purify them, and they will have a painful chastisement." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) repeated it three times. Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him) remarked: "They are ruined. Who are they, O Messenger of Allah?" Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "One who lets down his lower garments (below his ankels) out of arrogance, one who boasts of his favours done to another; and who sells his goods by taking a false oath."

وعن أبي ذر رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " ثلاثة لا يكلمهم الله يوم القيامة ولا ينظر إليهم، ولا يزكيهم ولهم عذاب أليم" قال: فقرأها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ثلاث مرار. قال أبو ذر: خابوا وخسروا من هم يا رسول الله؟ قال: المسبل، والمنان، والمنفق سلعته بالحلف الكاذب" ((رواه مسلم)).
وفي رواية له : " المسبل إزاره" يعني: المسبل إزاره وثوبه أسفل من الكعبين للخُيلاء.

I have researched alot about it and have consulted many ulama s including dr zakir , dr israr dr farhat hashmi, advicate faiz etc. 3 rakats of witr needs to be prayed without a break with ONE TASHAHUD AT THE END. Or you can pray 2 rakats ( with tashahud and salam- like normal 2 rakats) and then you have to read 1 rakat with tashahud and salam.

It is said that the Witr prayer must not look alike the Maghreb prayer. Therefore we need to pray the three raakaa’t before Tachahoud.
It does have a takbir in the third rakat which differs it. In the hanafi madnab it is structurally similar to maghrib and the way it differs is that there are nafl prayers preceding the witr and not the fard of maghrib. Every madhhab have evidence of their position therefore we should not go aorund saying this is right and this is wrong

Witr should be done without resembling it like maghrib..this is misleading..either do it straight 3 rakaats only sitting and make tashahud in the last rakaat then conclude the prayer or make two rakaats make tashahud then conclude the prayer then make another one rakaat then conclude.thats the way of the prophet.
yeah absolutely, here in this video is incorrect i think.....also in the 3rd rakat, there is no sunnah in raising hands and saying allahuakbar for it. he should make hands like in a dua rather than folding it and reciting qunoot

I thought you don't sit in the second rakah to recite attahiyatu like Maghrib prayer. In the middle east, they never sit for the second rakah and only sit after 3 consecutive rakahs. Very confusing.

They way u r praying, setting only in 3rd rakah, that's also okay.

Brother Remus is right. I knew the same. I followed before like this video. I have stopped sometimes before. Sahi Hadith says, Witr prayer should not be like Magrib prayer. We should know first then pray. It seems Innovation (Bidda)
