Tudor has achieved a firm grip in this price range, and for good reason. Great build quality, genuine heritage, accurate in-house movements and choice of dial colours. For example the retail for a steel BB58 in the UK is £3010, while the Omega SMP 300 on a bracelet is now £5,100. We can all debate the various pros and cons and increased prestige of the Omega (I love and own one btw), but the gap is definitely widening.

Tudor seems to have taken a big grasp of this price segment. With Omega's entry level watches in the mid $4K-5k, the barely have any competition. I hope you will review that new Tag Aquaracer GMT in the future. It looks amazing! Thanks for this amazing video.
Really pleased for Tudor. I can remember when they were not doing well at all. I've had the Balckbay 58 blue for 6 months, and love it even more now. Can't stop looking at it when I'm wearing it, it's that beautiful. A future classic.

Good call with the honorable mention to the Breitling Super Ocean. Uncharacteristically simple design (for Breitling), easy to read, solid construction, and a KILOMETER of water resistance. Because I need that while I’m sitting in my cubicle every day. Great video! Thanks, Teddy!
Tudor sports watch and Grand Seiko dress watch are perfect watches under $4k each. That’s what I went for, got each for a little under $3k lightly used. Insane value!
I bought the new smp 300 blue wave for $3900 at my AD after discounts in 2018. Great timing on my part, as this watch and pretty much every watch has gone up in price significantly, both at retail and grey market, in the last 3-4 years.
Tudor, Omega, Cartier and Nomos I think will increase their market shares as watch enthusiasts will gravitate towards these price ranges in these crime ridden times.
The Frederique Constant Flyback chronograph should also be considered. Great looking chronograph, especially the blue and silver variant, for around 4K.
At $4,000 it's hard to beat Tudor. I can only think about Breitling and Tag Heuer on this price category. Even Grand Seiko, the good ones are on the 5-6k range.
Been a Tudor Black Bay GMT owner for six months and absolutely loved it. Stylish, easy to read, great travel companion (attested by my recent international travel). Tudor does appear to be sitting comfortably in that market niche between higher $3k to mid-lower $4k, but I would love to see how they decide to further develop on the Black Bay line and whether they will be offering more chronograph choices in the future.
One year and a half with my BB GMT and really happy with it in every single way. I don't care about some people ( majority of them are haters) are talking about thickness, etc, etc.
Got to handle/try on a friends new black bay 58. I was absolutely blown away for the price. I felt like I had on a 10+ thousand dollar Rolex. Extremely comfortable and wearable on wrist and although it was steel/blue color way it was still very striking. That will probably be my next purchase 🤠
Hi Teddy. Hope I’m not asking too much but would you consider doing a video on 38mm watches for small wrist, watches as gifts for friends and watches for women.
I had an early Tudor GMT, it had the date wheel issue, but Tudor replaced the entire watch under warranty. The new one felt like it had a much stronger date change mechanism.
For 4k idk May as well go 5k. For example in the everyday category just spend about 5k and pick up a used Rolex explorer. Also that Tudor heritage chrono is the perfect pick for someone that wants a Tudor that isn’t a Rolex look alike. The blue orange and silver one looks awesome.
Teddy, if you can, take a look at the Feynman Coalesce Lotus. It’s an enamel dial piece using an ETA 7001 movement. It probably doesn’t fit into any of your categories but I suspect it may get a honorable mention.
Very cool to see the Sinn 903 featured. Most people don’t even seem to know it exists and it’s a very attractive offering when Breitling Navitimers seem to be getting perpetually more expensive and bigger as well, the 903 offers more of a classic Navitimer experience at a more reasonable price. Not quite reasonable enough for me to gamble on a new one, but hopefully enough people will see this, buy one, and then sell it on the used market at an even more affordable price. That’s always been my biggest reservation, because you typically can’t try on Sinn watches, buying one sight unseen with a secondhand market that isn’t really aware of the 903 makes it a big risk for a watch that you may end up not liking for whatever reason and then can only move on at a huge loss, if at all.
I happened across an Aquaracer GMT recently and it blew me away. I'm not a big fan of the aquaracers looks but this thing is outrageous and it will be my next watch. The bezel is simply amazing
My problem with Tudor is that I'm constantly being reminded they are owned by Rolex. They always come out as the poor brother to me. That and I hate the whole "everything's a Black Bay thing".
Great choices! So many top quality watches in that price point. I’d say be careful with the Kenissi GMT movement in Tudor watches. I’m hearing the date wheel fiasco is still happening. Some people report very long service wait times for this issue because, as you probably know, Tudor uses the hot swap service model for all of their watches. That means when you send in your Tudor for service, your movement is removed and some other person’s refurbished movement is plopped in. Then your movement is refurbished and plopped into the next watch to come in for service. Since there apparently are so many Tudor GMT date wheel issues, there aren’t enough refurbished movements to plop into all of the watches returned for service, hence long wait times. I’d never ever buy a Tudor GMT, but plenty of people do. The Grand Seiko sbgm221 is a wonderful dress GMT close to your price point.

BBGMT.. I’m an owner. Never a movement problem. Fantastic watch. Runs at +.5 per day. Feels like a much more expensive watch. Probably 1 of 3 in the collection that would never leave. This watch make one question why would one spend Rolex money. It’s that bloody good.

I definitely didn't have that particular Rado on my radar before, and I'm sure some others are now aware of it that might not have known about it. I'm likely getting the Tudor Pepsi GMT for my birthday this year, so it was good to see that on the list. What's funny is I showed my wife a list of watches I liked after trying them on over the past several months. She had no hesitation in saying she liked the Pepsi GMT, having zero knowledge of the watch style or Tudor. I got no reaction for the Speedmaster Pro, several other luxury watches, and a clear dislike for the Pelagos. Her other favorites were the Omega Railmaster, and the Grand Seiko SBGE285 "Mist Flake." I'd been leaning toward the Pepsi recently anyway, and was hesitant about the cost of the GS (even as a watch lover, it's a lot of money).
during the first year of use no date problem appeared at my BB GMT. But the problem is still not finally fixed by Tudor. Some new "Explorer" PRO models also showed the date problem. The only negative in my eyes is, the GMT is a swirls, scratches and dangs magnet in daily use. Mine looks like 10 year old daily used to work in construction even if just worn in office...

The Sinn Chronograph looks impressive in this report. Hmmmm.... You do a great job, Teddy, I learn a lot from your presentations. Thanks.
Great vid. However, being newer to watch collecting I don’t understand why water resistance matters referencing a watch like the Santos with leather band. I don’t imagine people are taking that in a pool or salt water.. or many of the watches on the list. Love all in your selection. Also, a good go to Brand in all these categories mentioned here is BALL Watch Co.. From the Skin Diver to Hydrocarbon lines as well as the Engineer lines... So many to consider give the extreme shock resistance and anti-magnetic properties that knock it out of the utilities park. Not to mention the fantastic 24/7 25 years lume. I have owned many higher end watches and this brand builds on quality not on marketing.
Love that you mention Sinn and not just going for the usual suspects. Such a great brand! I miss Fortis as brand in your videos, they are so nice also.
Teddy! Another great video, but I’m afraid I must complain about the erasure of the Longines Ultra Chron in the diver section. It’s an incredible movement that fits squarely within your parameters if I am not mistaken. Is there a reason you felt it didn’t fit the list?
A great chronograph for $4,000 could have been a Sinn 103 Ti Diapal. Titanium, 200m WR, Diapal escapement, timing bezel and 2nd time zone. Just under $4,000 on a bracelet.
The only two segments here where Tudor did not get mentioned were only because otherwise it would just be a clean sweep "Tudor is awesome" video, and certainly Tudor have everyday and dress offerings where are outstanding as well, all with in-house movements at this price point. I do think Omega is a step up (with price commensurately well beyond the $4K price point) but I there are several brands that do not impress at prices well above that of comparable Tudors. Anything costing twice the price of the BB Chrono with the same base movement, for example. Rolexification of that movement (silicon hairspring and free sprung balance wheel with four adjustable masses) one could argue, make it better than the B01 that it's based upon. Perhaps Teddy, you could do videos for "3 or 4 watch collections from same brand" rather than price based? My own collection includes the same 1926 you like with linen dial and blue hands, (bought on bracelet and swapped to brown strap and clasp), BB Chrono, BB Root beer GMT, with the BB Ceramic as fourth and most recent add.
Tudor all the way in this price range. We'd always ask is Omega as good as Rolex but now it's, is Todor the real rival to Omega? So much value and deadly accurate movements in my experience. Hair is on point today Teddy B! Great video series idea and execution. Cheers!
Tudor is in the same league as longines and oris, omega is above Tudor. I've owned both omega and tudor and omega is clearly a much better watch in every way.
Love my Tudor ...and it is the updated Ranger. As options, the Formex Essence 39, Christopher Ward Sealander C63 are closer to the $2K range...but man times are tough, so why not have some fun and keep some cheddar cheese aside for better days?
I would add the Noqain Neverst GMT, for dive I really am loving the Longines Ultrachron. It is a very nice piece and getting a high beat movement at $3700 is a great deal.

I lucked out and my AD had one in stock so now I am curious...…how deep is this watch collecting rabbits hole lol. Thanks again for all the info.
Love your choises Teddy. The FC GMT is beautifull watch. Is the TAG GMT an office GMT? And Cartier, how beautifull they look, the 30 m is a deal breaker. For the money I expect a True GMT and at least 100m WR. A brand that lacks this for such a price, it's a bummer... Love the Sinn 903 Chrinigraph

Great content! You should make a video on best vacation watches with different price tears.
No comp
Wrist check?
Love my Tudor ...and it is the updated Ranger. As options, the Formex Essence 39, Christopher Ward Sealander C63 are closer to the $2K range...but man times are tough, so why not have some fun and keep some cheddar cheese aside for better days?
Another great video. Always like to hear your perspective. Thank you.
Teddy, Another great video. Keep them coming, please.
I would add the Noqain Neverst GMT, for dive I really am loving the Longines Ultrachron. It is a very nice piece and getting a high beat movement at $3700 is a great deal.
I have always loved that FC 🙌
Great video. Agree with the Tudor GMT as being a great watch. I sold my Rolex GMT Master 2 shortly after I bought Tudor GMT.
The moon on the Meistersinger looks like a crappy low-res print from a consumer inkjet.
Still loving my Tudor BB58 Blue after 12 months. Wear it everyday and my other watches don’t get a look in.
Really like this channel and Teddy I would love to know the other options for a day/date other than Rolex.
Teddy ask your editor to make the graphics half the screen for your older eyes.
Hello Teddy, I just started my watch collection, I have a couple Longines Hidroquest, Captain Cook Omega DeVille prestige, I'm getting ready to buy my next watch. My budget is between 5k and 10k I want a complication watch like a moon face. Possibly a world timer. The one you professional opinion. I'm a big fan of your videos and I'd like to get an opinion from someone like yourself. Hope to hear from you
teddy you should show the watch on your wrist at the beginning of each video
Nomos and Tutor did right by targeting the 4000$ price point. 👏
I have a 2021 Tudor GMT Pepsi and no issues at all.. love it but I have it on the leather strap
I love my BBB 58.!! And that Sinn looked great🎉
I have a Black Bay GMT love it!! No problems at all!
I have been watching you, and you and Kevin for the last2 months along with other watch creators. I have taken in a lot of info and was all over the place a to the first higher end watch to start my collection. I ended up with the one that was my first choice, so with all the high praise I have heard from you and may others.....I went with the Tudor GMT. I lucked out and my AD had one in stock so now I am curious...…how deep is this watch collecting rabbits hole lol.
Thanks again for all the info.
Thanks for watching, Jon! Enjoy the journey!
I was just waiting for him to mention the pelagos 39. I knew that would be his personal favorite
Hey, that oris looks pretty nice
Love your choises Teddy. The FC GMT is beautifull watch. Is the TAG GMT an office GMT? And Cartier, how beautifull they look, the 30 m is a deal breaker. For the money I expect a True GMT and at least 100m WR. A brand that lacks this for such a price, it's a bummer...
Love the Sinn 903 Chrinigraph
Love that tudor pepsi
Good job Teddy! 🙏 It was a great, interesting video! Tudor BB Pro my favorit, almost perfect, I just don't like the white date background...
I own few watches like zenith defy and Tudor blackbay GMT all amazing but the one I love the most is the cheapest ... Casio GM 2100 A 🤷🏻🤦
At 2:30 It's not pink Teddy, it's salmon! Cmoooon maaan 🤣😉 great vid as always
Love that salmon dial of the Oris! However, the price I feel is a tad too high.
the newer FC worldtimer looks more classy imo. Hope you'd review that soon too!
