- Come with me as we explore three viewing sites to see the magnificent Mt. Fuji, a short visit to Oshino Hakkai, and Gotemba Premium Outlet shopping.
📍Chureito Pagoda
The Chureito Pagoda is a five storied pagoda on the mountainside overlooking Fujiyoshida City and Mount Fujioff in the distance. The pagoda is part of the Arakura Sengen Shrine and was built as a peace memorial in 1963 nearly 400 steps up the mountain from the shrine’s main buildings.
📍Oishi Park
Oishi Park is on the north shore of Kawaguchiko lake. A park with a superb view of lake and Mt.Fuji at once. Various flowers bloom on the promenade along the lakeside. On our visit, fields of lavender flowers welcomed us. We also bought different flavors of ice cream at the Oishi Park Cafe.
📍Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway
Also called the Kachi Kachi Ropeway, this cable car brings you 220 meters up to the observation point and offers fantastic views of the lake as you ascend and descend.
📍Oshino Hakkai
Oshino Hakkai is a touristy set of eight ponds in Oshino, a small village in the Fuji Five Lake region, located between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako the site of a former sixth lake that dried out several hundred years ago. They offer various food and snacks here that may cater tourists while resting after going through a lot of activities.
📍Gotemba Premium Outlet
Japan’s most popular outlet mall, located in Gotemba City at the base of Mt. Fuji. It is a nice place for a day of shopping, with a lot of variety and reasonable prices.
