100% buying one next year to fly in Colorado....I've been wanting to do this for years....retiring at 39 in a few months and making this happen! :)
I flew it in "Chill" mode yesterday, and my takeoff was much easier. In the "Sport" mode it is a beast....more instant power than my Tornado 280. I love this machine. You are welcome to fly it anytime! Thanks for making this video! Bill
Can you explain more on why chill mode was easier on takeoff? Having the more power available to you in sport mode seems like a good thing.
@@michaelbartlett1589 It has a large 140cm three blade E-Prop. When the power is "instant" as it is with the electric motor, the "torque" is also. If you limit the power as it does in "chill" mode, it cuts down on the amount of instant torque.
Nicely said gentleman…! Looking forward to electric Paramotor’s i’m surprised to see myself typing this praise I’ve always been a gasoline driven person but when I’m in my paramotor and I shut the engine off it’s just such a unique and special experience so if electrical paramotor motors can give me more of that feeling it’s a no-brainer…👋
hey rob, rob here...student fro 4 years ago. glad you reviewed this. i'm definitely getting one of these for here in the czech republic.
Looks awesome
I’m liking how ePPG is progressing. This looks very interesting.
Where’d you get the wing?
Beau matériel a vraiment essayé sur une plage aussi belle et l océan. Cela doit être un vrai régal
Will it have enough power to fly with a total load of 125kg, including; pilot, trike, motor and battery to fly 1 hour? Wing is a Niviuk Link2 size 25
One thing to note is that you only tried it at half battery so you haven’t experienced it at full power yet. It’s quite thrilling with a fresh charge
Braedin, the second video Robbie did where he climbed to 5,250' was a full battery and in "Sport" mode. He is Very aware of the awesome power this electric has!👍. He is a believer like me!! Bill
This would be cool with quad blades to increase climb rate 💕
I will go to training, i will buy one of these electric paramotors and wing.
i would buy one as well if it is getting vertification for Europe, france or germany ....Thank you for the demonstration 🙏🪂
I'm confused. On their website this product isn't even out yet. How are people buying and flying them?
its been a year. did you buy one?
Looks like Macfly swing arms.
1hour? Good
Nice to meet you, I want to know how to buy SP140. The price is also. from Japan
I'm on the fence whether or not to buy one of these, main concern is I've had ion battery cells go dead in FPV battery packs in the past. How easy is it to replace a dead cell? Does the manufacturer offer a replacement warranty or service plan for the battery pack?
Just contact openppg and ask them about the warranty. This should be way more reliable than any two stroke.
On the fence also this or Gravity. Whsts the difference between this and the 4 prop?
@@zoeconner11 the X4 uses lipos, 15-20 minutes of flight time and no torque from what I can see. The SP 140 is more powerful, efficient, longer flight time, less wiring and batteries are Ions.
@@FlyHighParamotors according to Paul the batteries & ESC are covered for two years and the motor should last forever. I pre-ordered my SP 140 for batch#2.
Safety Tip: I wouldn't advise touching or spinning the prop while the throttle unit is is armed................
Yes for sure! I fly the X4 and leave the switches off until I put it on my back. "Clear Props" then switches on. I don't arm it until just before inflation.
How safe it is, if you fall in the water, especially in salt water, if not it is a Keller on your back, except if does had a re-less to drop the batteries only with air bag to mark location to comeback to pick it up and keep the wind and the harness to glued a way from the batteries?
I hope the batteries are seal with the plug or not? that very important.
It would be nice to have a small motor to charge the batteries to make long rang flight, one hour not enough it is good for learner but not for long flight.
If you ask most PPG pilots how long they actually fly you'll find that most pilots only fly for an hour.
Unless you Younger Guys just like to Run with a Paramotor Strapped on your Back, the 4 stroke-250 cc-fuel injected, European made Fresh Breeze Motor on a Trike would be Best Choice. Flying Time -Over 4 Hours on 5 Gal. of Fuel and no problems that you have with Two Stroke Engines...
Is that one hour of launch, cruise, and land with power the whole time? (4kWh battery)
Depending on your weight, your selection of wing and flying style it is possible to easily go over an hour. The same holds true for flying less than hour. I am about 200 pounds "geared up" flying an Ozone Spyder26, and with my flying style, I can fly close to an hour. Robert, in the video above, can realistically fly over an hour. Bill
At what power level? You will be dead before this is worth having. It is the future, just not the near future. Lol
I agree that these Electric Motors could be the Future but I keep thinking about the Tesla Car that Completely Blew into just months ago on a Residential City Street in FL.-parts were thrown for over a Hundred Yards, how the Driver Survived is a Miracle--if this happened in the Air--Pilot would be Dead...
1 hour battery means 20 min out...and 20 min back..with 20 min reserve....not very much for 10,000...plus you need the wing 4,000..EXPENSIVE
The unit with battery is about $7,200.00. No vibration, no tune-ups, instant power, almost no motor noise, no maintenance. PPG is not inexpensive, but is a Super fun way to fly.
8 minutes later
......
OpenPPG is great except they want about double what it's actually worth.
Another one "open" PPG
I love watching these PPG videos where you can see a paramotor pilot fall in love with the sport all over again.
