    In this video I show you how to use a portable bow press like the Bowmaster bow press. The Bowmaster G2 Portable Bow Press. The Bowmaster G2 Bow Press works similarly to any cable press such as the Bow Medic Bow Press. The Bow Medic Bow Press is much like the Bowmaster Bow Press in another brand, but works much the same way. Both are a portable cable bow press.

    Great information. First time I’ve ever seen a portable press used. I’ve always taken my bow to a shop but the more I hunt the backcountry, the more I see a need for a portable press and a few extra parts back at the truck.

    I have the same on and it works awesome. I had to go with the wider brackets to fit my bow. One thing that will make it so you don't have to use a drill is to back out your limb bolts to reduce the poundage. My Halon 32 came with a recommendation to do that anyway when pressing it. I am able to hand turn it with no difficulties.

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  Před 5 lety

      @livingidoutdoors thanks! 100% agree...always a good idea to back out the limbs when you use a press. Some bows (like that Halon 32) require it (or at least the manufacturer strongly recommends it). Great tip though and thanks for the comment!

    Maybe you said this at some point and I missed it, but I would suggest removing your string stop bar (usually a small screw or 2) because the cable is putting a good amount of lateral pressure on it when you press your bow. It only take a minute to remove it and reinstall it, better safe than sorry.

    I got mine a week ago to do some work on my reign 7 and I can't get it to work,I've wound the limbs down but the amount of pressure I have to apply to even get a little bit of pressure off the string was that great it bent the L brackets, it worked fine on my hoyts bow but when it came to my bowtech it had no hope of compressing the limbs enough to do any work on the bow what so ever.

      Michael I'm pretty sure it'll work on the Mission(I've used them on a Mission Riot), but not sure on the Hoyt or Infinite Edge....haven't tried them on either of those. The brackets are fairly universal, and looking at those two bows, it appears that the brackets should work. I just haven't tried them personally on either of those bows. Really liked your DIY bow holder video. However I do have a nice OMP bow holder that works well. I don't have plans of getting a bow press since I don't have a Prime dealer in my area anymore to give me free replacement strings. Not sure of the politics behind this but I have 3 Prime bows & 2 could use the factory string systems. I think I might be interested in this if I can figure out which arms to buy with that 6" model. One Prime Centergy that I really like doesn't have split limbs so I'm not sure which parts to use with this. I never had Covid but I'm still suffering with the effects that it had in the bow shop specifically with the free strings for life that I'm the 1st time owner of under their warranty. I can do anything on a bow but Prime just doesn't send out replacement strings to s customer & the bow shop is no longer an option.

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  Před rokem

      @@BackwoodsPursuit Yeah, the Centergy was the pre-cursor to the Logic line that existed for a few years. Only difference is that they never had a split-limb design until they started putting it on the Logic's. The 1st bow with the best nock-travel which was just about zero to come out. I took the d-loop off of mine when I called the old dealer for Prime. I never heard back. I just think he's sore that the shop is no more & it pains him to work a real job while using his free time to work on warranty service. All I know is that he was more enthusiastic about the Inline Series than most loyal Prime guys out there.

    You having all of that extra equipment kind of defeats the purpose of a portable bow press, doesn't it? 😂

      Haha...well, it certainly also works without all of it, but when I've used it at the house as my only press (at the time) it was nice to have.

      Yeah, that can happen whenever you are working on a bow or if it slips off the limbs. Not fun at all and sorry to hear. That's no fun. Thanks for watching though,

      пресс нужен только в случае сборки compound bow , у которого болты на карманах , не позволяют полностью ослабить тетиву и троса ! если лук собран , и требуется замена тросов и тетивы , или регулировка , достаточно иметь под рукой обычную зажигалку или любой предмет такого же размера ( дерево , пластмасса )
      - упираемся коленом в Riser , оттягиваем тетиву на 7 - 10 см , и вставляем предмет в блок , который упрётся в плечё при отпускании тетивы .
