Thank you so much me and my little sister are flying together and we aren't teenagers yet and it is our second time the first flight (part of this trip) they told us to sit anywhere but I'm not sure they're going to do the same thing this time.
It is supposed to take 90 seconds to exit an aircraft in case of an emergency. I was on a flight to LA a month ago and I had a group of very large people sitting in front of me. The jet was packed. I watched a couple of the large folks try to stand and get out of their seat. There is no way in hell you're going to get 300 people out of an aircraft in under 90 seconds. All the factors involved: injured, large people, hysterical people, elderly. Then comes the slide. there will be a large percentage of people that will hesitate at the slide for fear. 4 exits on an aircraft with expectations of 2 being non operational due to water or fuselage damage. 300 people exiting that aircraft would require one person to exit every 1.3888 seconds. Furthermore, the slides can only hold 6 people at a time, or it will buckle. If a water landing time it takes to get find your life vest, put it on , and you know people are going to pull the cord before exiting the craft. Airlines care about the $. And in some dark way I think, they think it would be better to fall from the sky than try to explain why the evacuation didn't work on an overloaded aircraft sinking in the ocean or on fire on a runway. They should be taking seats out not putting more in.

If you booked your flight together, they airline will not let you book window and isle anymore and leave the middle seat free. Those times are over.

Its a balance between factors like risk, money, fuel efficiency.
