Although I often mock the failure of 3D (both in films and comic books), I do have to admit that there was one movie I saw playing in a Boxmart that actually sorta looked 3D: Hugo.
Hugo is an amazing movie. So many slept on it because the said the original cover art made them think it was a children's movie. It's a love letter to film and I love that the new 4K got people to give it a look.
I haven't seen it in 3D though. I'll have to check into that.

Just have it on 3d Blu-ray since it was Scorcese’s first 3d-shot film. 4k sounds worth it!

There were a few movies in your recommendations I wanted to get that I don’t have already. I have An American Werewolf In London as well as Robocop and those are excellent 4Ks! I have the Ronin Blu-Ray but want the Kino 4K. Funds are tight so I have to be selective. I just pre ordered the Hellraiser 4K box set from Diabolik because I missed out on the first set. I will probably have to sit this sale out. 😞 I would also recommend The Last Starfighter from Arrow, great movie and a nice looking 4K.
Hi friend. I hear you about the budgeting. I think many of us are in the same boat going into 2024. Not to mention the prices for physical media are going sky high. I'm being far more selective with what I pick up these days. I didn't get anything new this Arrow sale because I'm trying to get ahead with some other payments I have so I totally get it.
I've heard great things about The Last Starfighter so thanks for the reminder. I have added it to my wishlist for future purchases.

If your local Best Buy still has a copy of Hugo on 4K in stock, you can find it for $14.99. Picked up the last copy of that for a friend at my local Best Buy this past weekend.
Oh nice. My Best Buy closed up shop on the movies. It seemed pretty quick so not sure if they moved the inventory or what.

The house by the Cemetery, The Lighthouse, and Blood and Black alace 4K are UK only releases and won't be at B&N, and may or may not be on Amazon but won't be on sale because their imports. Killer Clowns from Outer Space is OOP

I'm a long time Criterion collector who finally dipped into Arrow's physical media. My first three were Django, Barbarella, and Mallrats. Each delivered what it promised and then some!
Same here, friend. I love Criterion but there are so many great boutique labels out there now. It's just nice to have options that don't disappoint. I'm glad you've been happy with your Arrow pick-ups.

Is there a big difference between the Arrow video Witness 4k vs the Blu-ray version? The 4k version is out of stock but my local B&N still has the Blu-ray version.
Hi friend. Is it a new Blu-ray edition or the original? If it's the original, I'd say there's as nice uptick in quality of both picture and sound. I hadn't seen the movie in some time but it was definitely a gorgeous release. Hopefully it gets back in stock soon. I see things have been coming back to the site as available the Matt few days.

I do like when stuff is on sale at Barnes And Noble because most of the movies are way overpriced a lot of the time. Thanks as always.

Is Arrow Video a US COMPANY? ARE THE BLURAYS REGION FREE?
Arrow is a UK company but they also release US editions of many of the titles they have on their label. The 4K discs are Region free and any releases you get through Barnes & Noble should be US releases, which would mean the Blu-ray discs would be Region A.

i would NEVER order any physical media from Amazon. They refuse to ship properly. Not worth the headache of having to return.
I get that. I've done ok for the most part with Amazon but I do have the occasional issue. But everyone has to do what they're comfortable with so I fully understand why you're not ok with ordering through them.

@@MovieChatter01 Thank you for the heads up on the sale. Since they go off of 50% the suggested price of say $50, which we never see, it like $30 at DiabolikDVD, and then $25 now for the sale. Not huge difference but I guess adds up, but not enough to mess with. ( I used Witness Blu-ray as a price check btw for that). All companies do that though, as far as a huge suggested price we never see them sell for, but if they do a sale. Severin, and Vinegar Syndrome. They do as well. So I should not be surprised to see.
I pre ordered Conan Chronicles 4K on B&N (it’s the best price I’ve seen for it) and I got True Romance limited edition deluxe Steelbook 4K (I’ve never seen it, but it’s directed by Tony Scott and he has more hits than misses in my book) I don’t normally go for the limited editions or Steelbooks but at these prices why not.
I also got Southland Tales from Arrow’s website which has it on sale at the moment for $5; all I know about it is that it’s supposed to be weird, and for five bucks that’s good enough for me.😁
