I ikea-hacked a drawer under my kitchen sink for trash and compost, and added the utrusta auto opener - I LOVE IT. It took some planning and figuring out what bins fit, and I do still have an external trash can that we use for our recycling, but having the food and trash waste right at the sink is fantastic.

You solved my “broom storage” dilemma. A very narrow pullout is a brilliant solution! Thank you!

"Archeological dig to the back of the cabinet" 😂 so funny bc it is so true! That is exactly what it feels like. Removing the "fossils" of expired food along the way. Lol

If I can't see something, it is completely gone from my mind.

Have you already done a video about kitchen design for those of us who hope to age on place, or for folks with mobility issues?

I’m sorry but the broom always goes to the side of the refrigerator! I thought everyone knew that 😤

I have this very same cavernous no drawer kitchen right now and I hate it!

What software do you use for your designing

Great Video! From left to right, would it be better to have a 24" wide tall Ikea pantry cabinet, a 24" wide base cabinet, a 36" wide sink cabinet, and another 24" wide base cabinet along a wall or an 18" wide pantry cabinet, a 30" wide base cabinet, a 30" wide sink cabinet and another 30" wide base cabinet? This is for a small year round off grid cabin out in the middle of nowhere but I don't cook much, and I won't be doing a lot of canning so should I focus on having more pantry space or more countertop prep area?
    Thanks for your time!

Depends on what is more important- storage space or sink and countertop space. My guess is you wouldn’t need a huge amount of storage for that situation and countertop room is more beneficial.
