I cannot tell you how many times I have left lecture (even now as a grad student) frustrated with how content was presented and feeling like I didn’t understand what was being taught. But then my next thought is, “yo, I bet NinjaNerd Lectures has something about this..” and every time, without fail, you manage to get me back up in the saddle. I owe a lot to you and your passion for science. Thank you again, Broskee.

Some of the steps in this video are inconsistent with Harper's Biochemistry on page 815. For example, UMP reacts with ATP to form UDP, and UDP reacts with ATP to form UTP. Thus, the reaction takes place in two individual steps. The ribonucleotide reductase enzyme does not add a phosphate group in the aforementioned reaction.

Just a minor correction: For phosphoribosyl pyrophosphate(PRPP), The pyrophosphate (Double phosphate) is located on the first carbon, with a lone phosphate on the 5th carbon that was added way back from hexokinase. There's a total of 3 phosphate groups. The pyrophosphate on the first carbon is what gets replaced by the amine group from glutamine in purine synthesis(Phosphoribosylamine), or Orotate takes the place of the pyrophosphate to become OMP. In both cases, the phosphate group on the 5th carbon has always been there unchanged since hexokinase/glucokinase.
Love the videos though, they're so organized and well illustrated
