With the spectacular conversion of the former bullring "Las Arenas" and the opening of the new building, Barcelona has gained a real attraction.
Spread over six floors are 115 shops, a fitness center, a 12-screen cinema, a multifunctional hall and several bars and restaurants with fantastic views of Montjuïc.
The special feature is the preserved and very successfully restored facade of the former bullring. In this way, a piece of building and cultural history could be preserved.

Con la espectacular reconversión de la antigua plaza de toros "Las Arenas" y la inauguración del nuevo edificio, Barcelona ha ganado un verdadero atractivo.
Repartidas en seis plantas hay 115 tiendas, un gimnasio, un cine de 12 pantallas, una sala multifuncional y varios bares y restaurantes con fantásticas vistas a Montjuïc.
La característica especial es la fachada conservada y restaurada con mucho éxito de la antigua plaza de toros. De esta manera, se podría preservar una parte de la historia cultural y del edificio.

Mit dem spektakulärem Umbau der ehemaligen Stierkampfarena "Las Arenas" hat Barcelona und mit der Eröffnung des neuen Gebäudes eine echte Attraktion gewonnen.
Auf sechs Etagen verteilen sich 115 Geschäfte, ein Fitnesscenter, ein Kino mit 12 Sälen, eine Multifunktionshalle und mehrere Bars und Restaurants mit fantastischem Ausblick auf den Montjuïc.
Das Besondere ist die erhaltene und sehr gelungen restaurierte Fassade der ehemaligen Stierkampfarena. So konnte ein Stück Bau- und Kulturgeschichte erhalten werden.

If there are any architects or structural engineers here, I invite them to share their opinions about this building. They way I see it, it's pure genius - a tensegrity structure supporting all the walls, floors, and what's on them. 10:25 we can see some structural elements exposed for their aesthetic value. The thick yellow beams are the compression members, hollow steel tubes filled with concrete for high compression strength. The thin yellow struts attached to them (11:04) are the tension members, made of solid steel. Together they form a very solid space frame that carries the whole load. I'd wager this building could withstand a 9.0 magnitude quake with only minor damage.
