IF YOU HAVE BURNING SMELL: I repaired the brush roller by 1. removing all external hair, string, etc. 2. Pulled off end caps by putting in vice and pulling. Hair was imbedded in there slowing rotation. This caused belts to burn. 3. Removed all hair. 4. lubricated with 3 in 1 oil. 5. replaced caps. put back together and it works! I'm too lazy to do a video. LOL!

Lay it down on the floor and turn it on. Does the brush rotate? If not, the belt driving it is either loose or broken, or there's so much hair on the brush it can't rotate (XActo knife, cut it off). If it is rotating, then there could be a blockage where the dirt exits behind the brush. Both of these are doable by a Do It Yourself'er.
