- Steve Magnante made the 90-minute “How To Build Your Own Altered Wheelbase Funny Car” DVD in 2007 and has sold hundreds of copies for $19.95 each. But now YOU can watch the video for FREE here on the Steve Mags CZcams Channel in 15-minute Episodes. This is Episode 3-of-6.
Love how the Cat has to inspect everything. A key player in the build.
My 2 "shop cats" do the same thing. They give every vehicle I work on a before and after inspection to be sure that the work is up to snuff.
That's not a cat. It's a heavily altered honey badger
I like the "Kid with a bag of fireworks" look on Steve's face as he carries the section of floorpan off to the bin
I'm not a drag racer. But I absolutely love customizing and fabricating. I could definitely see myself doing this if the circumstances were right
Love your cat wants to be in all the shots.
My cats constantly visit me in the garage during project de/re construction, ive come to expect visits :)
Someone pet the cat, quick!!
This is part of my morning routine 👍
Thanks for giving the weights of the stock suspension vs the A100 axle, back in the day I’d always heard there was a weight saving, but after lifting a beam axle and springs, I highly doubted it. So in fact, they actually accepted a weight penalty.
I love the lack of high tech tools! Looks like the kind of project I saw as a kid. One stock car build reached a critical decision point: spend the last of the pooled cash on fresh welding rods or beer? Beer won out because they could "borrow" welding rods at work.
yea, though I'm not sure I'd call a plasma torch "lack of high tech". Everything was cutoff wheels, sawzalls and oxy/acet in the good old days.
Caught a quick glimpse of the Farmont altered in the background! Cool!
This is the coolest thing I've seen in years, thanks so much for this, Steve!
Wow! You guy’s sure make it look easy and simple! Lol 😂👍can’t wait to see the next chapter!
Awesome Episode, I love how you slid it forward and mated it together, looks so simple, but beyond my skill level.
This is awesome stuff!👍 really enjoying this!
Great stuff, Steve. You should alter the wheelbase of Rem Charger.
Wow. That would be some car.
Hey Steve , enjoying this series , and man you got yourself a good man doing the work with you . What is Dale doing these days ? Thanks as usual
Thank's Steve , you guy's make this look so easy !
So cool to see how it's done. Thanks for the video 👍
Very cool Steve!
Wow, so simple!
One of the nice things is Plasma cutters are way cheaper these days as are half decent Mig and Tig welders, cheap enough so you can afford a proper Plumb Bob :-)
That is jaw-dropping fascinating
The most satisfying thing for me is cutting on a car !
Very interesting series! Hey Steve, during the intro, was the truck behind you a NAPCO 4x4 ? Thanks for takin' us along...
ps...this vid is 15 years old?? You are aging well, sir!!
Get well soon Steve.
Great information thank you.
Great video thank you.
Would love to see this process done on a '67-'72 F100. Take a long box. Remove only the section between the front and rear wheels. Leave the back long. Then move the Twin-I-Beam forward on the frame. A funny-truck. Could be sweet.
Chopping up one of my 'dream' cars. In the 70s when I was in grade school there was one of these that used to tool around in my neighborhood. Medium Blue, Cragar SS mags w/ big & wide on a jacked up rear end : and yellow 'slapper bars'. I don't know what for engine it had or even if it was fast ! I just knew as a 8-9-10 year old boy I liked it !
Exactly!! Coffee n Crawl every morning!!
These are the fastest 15 minutes on the net!🤙🤙💪
Supercool car and supercool series! Where is this car now etc...?
I need this DVD is interesting
Very inspirational. There's a 2 door 61 Lark down the road and I have a spare Champ front axle... turbo Slant 6 or the 413 wedge under the bench?
Steve you should do a video making your old mopar two door
❤❤❤Get well soon Steve Love Rick and Susan White 🤍🤍🤍
Thank you Steve great how to I am looking for a 66 charger to do the same thing never saw this done on the early charger
The black cat is back!

HI Kitty!!!
Just a simple jib right ..? 🤯
Love these videos Steve but, why not just go to a hardware store and pick up a real plumb bob for about $10 in todays money? They have a pointed end that makes finding the actual center easier than with a pulley or washer.
I’m Curious is this the same guy fabricator that came out on Jay Leno Garage. On The playboy pink AMX AMC car. About 4 years ago. He did the rotisserie restoration. Don’t know just asking.
Many don't know this but if you watch all this playlist one has Steves tattoos . He has Dodge and Plymouth on his chest and Mopar on his back .True Story
👍👍
I had an altered wheel base GF once . LOL
Alter! Ihr Amis putzt ja nichtmal das Blech vorm schweißen...
Ist trotzdem ein super Kanal.
Great vid! Only 138 pounds for the entire stock front end???
I still have the book and DVD video
Seeing those rims in the background reminds me of a younger me and havin girlfriends that were as sexy as CRAGER SS's.
It's seems like a lot of work for small gains.
That car will do a wheelie every time you stomp it, not smoke tires. They cleaned house in their day.
you didn't show rolling that section forward from underneath, I'm kinda disappointed! I want my $19.95 back!
