- Dark is the night (Тёмная ночь, lit. Dark Night) is a song commonly associated with the Great Patriotic War. The music was composed by Nikita Bogoslovsky and the lyrics were written by Vladimir Agatov. The song was made for a film named "Two Soldiers".
There are multiple videos of this song available on CZcams; but found none that contained the Cyrillic Script, Latinized Cyrillic, and English Translation of this song all at once.
This was a minor side project I made alongside the "animation" video I uploaded yesterday.

Pro tip: just learn Russian.
“ I’m calm in a deadly battle “
That is my people what love does in the face of life’s agony..
Thank you to add the 2 subtitles romanic language. It’s seems hard anyway 😢😢😢 that I only say Tomnaya noch….
You are welcome, my good fellow.
Learning a language completely foreign to you will sound difficult at first; but with enough practice, you can start speaking at least the basics of it.
Veryu v tebya v doroguyu podrugu Moyu, so beautiful
Hi, I'm from Russia, I can recommend you two of my favorite songs by this author. By the way, the author's name is Mark Bernes. And he performed all his songs himself. On this video too. So, my favorite songs are: "The enemies burned down their native hut", the performance of this song with English subtitles will be hard to find, tells about a soldier who went through the war and returning home waited for his wife to set the table for him, but upon arrival he finds himself at her grave, she was killed by the Germans. And the second song: "Cranes" in it, the already terminally ill author sings about war veterans as cranes flying through the sky. I use a translator, I'm sorry if something is wrong.
That is completely fine, my good fellow; you need not apologize for any mistakes.
Truth be told, I have numerous songs on my list that I want to translate, including those two that you have mentioned; but the availability of time always eludes me. For now, I am in a sort of hibernation from uploads.
I will see what I can do, nevertheless. Thank you for your suggestions.
Привет, from the Philippines.
❤❤❤cranes song is also in Greek language version from 1970s❤❤❤ love to Russia respect to heroes
The only wrong thing is you didn't mention the names of the other songs. Lol
Спасибо тебе за это !
You are welcome, my good fellow.

You are welcome, my good fellow.
I would love for suggestions if alike songs. I don’t care what language, or if you recommend me a playlist, artists or certain songs. I would love more like this. This is my favorite song by far right now.
Indeed. This song has a special place in my thoughts.

Love it
You are welcome, mi amigo.
Best music in russian😍
Agreed.
This is certainly one of the best Russian songs in existence.
@@RXY398 same goes if you take Russian out of that sentence. Laced with horror, grim acceptance, love, and hope all in one. A most honest expression as music should be.
@@lemagicbaguette1917 Indeed.
Omg, I'm i love

Beautifull! 👏Makes me feel nostalgic. Is the singer from a specific region in Russia? It sounds so gentle his speech, or maybe its the song itself.
Well, from where I had found the original song file, it was never specified who the singer is/was.
If there was a way to delineate a singer's origin via their tone and accent, I would gladly do so and find whichever region they grew up.
But, I suppose the melancholic but hopeful tune has more so to do with the song itself than the inherited vocal talent of the singer.
@@RXY398 It is a beautifull song, the lyrics and the melody and singing. Really felt it. Thanks for the upload and lyrics, greets from Amsterdam
@@MokumHVB You are welcome, my good fellow.
Greetings from the Philippines.
Hm, interesting song, reminds me at something of a horror movie for some reason.
Whichever way we view it, we can all unanimously agree that it sounds better than those distasteful Tiktok tunes.

That horror movie would be the Great Patriotic War, so I guess you're not wrong.
Five nights at Goli Otok: You're a Stalinist at Goli Otok, trying to escape Yugoslavia
Beautiful. It may be soviet but it's beautiful.
you dont have to add so much in your vid's desc, just make them short like ingen's
Honestly, yes; I should have compressed it.
I will see what I can do in future uploads.
Do you have a discord account kurt?
@@MeathMapper nah i abandoned all my discord accs, and im not planning to return anytime soon. but i'll be more active on yt as compensation
