My Morning Jacket - Live in Times Square, NYC - 10/12/13

Capping off the 2013 CBGB Festival, My Morning Jacket play an hour-long set in the heart of Times Square. They were joined for Dont Do It, by Jakob Dylan. The Antibalas horns also joined for two tunes, and for Trouble Sleep Yanga Wake Am, vocalists Brittany Howard from the Alabama Shakes and Merrill Garbus of Tune-Yards lent a hand...click 1080....the audio is by Scott Bernstein and his trusty Neumann TLM 170's, recorded dead center roughly 60 feet from the stage. I filmed this from the spot you see here, heh.

As a photographer, writer and journalist since 1993, it is so annoying with all these peeps focused in using their iPhone to capture a performance. You are there and just enjoy it. A shot or three is cool. We photographers have a limit of the first 3 songs of any artist,but honestly, you just need one song. Then get out of there and enjoy it in full!

Michael Lara as a life-long musician, I find it endearing that anyone would want to capture a performance for themselves to enjoy, and I support their efforts to get music however they can.
Just listen to the tunes, and stop taking your own opinion so seriously, dude. It’s insufferable.
