Grateful Dead - It's All Over Now (San Francisco, CA 12/31/78) [Official Live Video]

- "When the Grateful Dead started playing this song in September 1976, it instantly became a very welcome addition to Dead first sets. Made famous more than a decade earlier by the Rolling Stones, the Dead, in typical Dead fashion, made it their own, similar to what they'd do with another Rolling Stones classic track in 1990, The Last Time. The Dead had a strong talent for selecting covers songs that fit their style and musical sensibilities, and although they always stayed true to the originals, they were unmistakably the Grateful Dead." - David Lemieux

Will you come with me? Won't you come with me? There's no better place to take a long strange trip with the Grateful Dead than right here. We've got music from every single studio album and a bevy of live albums, to boot. There are celebrated live performances from the 70s and 80s and official videos with more skeletons than you can shake your bones at, an exclusive seaside series on what's to come from the band's rich catalog and details on meet-ups all across the promised land. If it's community you’re after, try your hand at our yearly DEAD COVERS PROJECT competition and connect with fellow Dead Heads around the world. Heck, keep your eyes peeled you might even catch a glimpse of Pigpen on keys, Jerry in a GROOVE, Bobby tellin' tales, Mickey talkin' space, Phil and friends, Bill on the beach, or anyone from our extended family.
It's all happenin' right here. Subscribe and you won't miss a thing.

Mr. Weir in GREAT voice! I was at this show - did about 12 New Year's Eves in a row. Good times...
So many roads. So many lots so much ______________
I'm confirmed jealous.
@@okpower4959 - Winterland was worn out and shabby by the time Bill Graham leased it as being a next step up from the Fillmore West (the old Carousel Ballroom - itself a step up from the original Fillmore) - but for we now old kids who filled it up every weekend it was a sort of Valhalla, and is VERY dear in our memories...
@Merciless Martion - A lot of great people have left this planet without leaving anything tangible behind - Garcia left a LOT of gifts behind for everyone to be enriched by...
Back to the Cabin.
During his Solos he’s soooo locked in like he’s still as a statue and then during the verses and chorus he str8 jammin but the solos he’s in a different dimension and it translates
1:15 Bobby and Jerry both looking at Donna while she laughs her ass off 😂
Firefly's living in brawley, Ca...
Acid kicking in 😂🤟
I think it’s because of Jerry’s little guitar lick made her giggle. Obviously it made her happy.
Just a bunch of hippies who saw the Dead were on, that’s all we are 😊☮️
This is the Best cover I've heard so far of this Song! They hold the basic beat of the song in such a gentle manner! The Dancing & Singing were all Top Shelf , also!
You guys are the best ever I was born in the wrong Gen 🤣 rock on love you all 🤟
Yup I second this
Same man😂
my favorite year. The shows could rock so hard its insane
Over the top ridiculous by Jerome and this is coming from a long time head
The good ole Grateful Dead... always makes you smile, no matter how bad you are down. The Dead is always the best medicine. MAY THE BUS ALWAYS KEEP ROLLING
12/31/78 Was the end of a great era... This was an almost impossible ticket to be had, I was lucky enough to see them the night before at Pauly Pavilion in LA. Absolutely love the mix on this show, you can Weirs rhythm guitar so clearly....
Excellent performance, a Bobby Womack classic. The original recording of this song released by The Valentinos is also wonderful.
Dam ! those hippies is just too good.
Absolutely loving the '77-'78 live Dead. The band's playing and singing is really strong, and as I guitar nut, I'm a huge fan of Jerry's Wolf. This wonderful music will last forever, Not Fade Away. Thanks GD!
was in high spirits after a long day, seeing this really made me smile, dead forever, long live the dead
Great sing, great performance. 🎶⚡🎶
Una de mis bandas favoritas nacida del movimiento hippie.
SI, y muchos anos despues tambien.
Amazing
My favorite version is 1-8-1979 live at MSG
The guitar sounds so good, they’re rockin.
At the end, he looked like one of the early settlers , like "Samuel Adams', walking off the stage!! Also, the song has a Good steady beat to it, & his voice sounded very Rebust! Also, the Female Singer, sounded Beautiful!!
Right on
For a jam band never before, never again.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can’t wait for Shakedown Stream tomorrow!
❤️
Well y’all clearly ran out of unseen footage. Always a HOOT💀⚡️
This is by far my most favourite
Jerry Garcia guitar
Musically is beautiful
No comments at all. I Can say, I may or may not have known Jerry con who helped Jerry out. But if you don’t know then get up fuck out of town
No really, he drew me a picture when I was in prison with him
Kimono Donna and Jim Jones Bobby. Good ol 78
I try to say that when they keep hanging around
Jeeze, Jer... 5:15
They were laughing that 😆Bob forgot to tuck his shirt back after peepee break.
Love Bobby Music don’t get me wrong but Jerome took that story over without saying a word. And don’t get me wrong Peanut Butter could never exist without Jelly but the fact that JG can tell a concise and intricate story with a guitar is still mind blowing to me. At least I can rest easy knowing I grew up in this era and now all they can do is emulate gives me comfort in the fact that the universe chose the right time to reassemble my parts
Donna laughing 😋🤣
wow, and all through rose colored sunglasses
My favorite break up tune. ❤. F the skanks. 😂
Did you ever meet Jerry con? Or ConMan
met and hung with jerry and mr helm
You can tell the bands coked out but I still dig it
Too bad the stones never had Jerry sit in with them at the studio
Will you please post something we haven’t seen a million times!!???
Keith and Donna would be gone in just a couple of months. I love Brent though it seemed to reenergize the band. Keith had a bad habit by this time and I guess they fought all the time.
I thought Keith and Bill had a falling out
@@przybyla420Honestly I was 8 years old so I may not know 💩. Still N.F.A 65-95!
Why the crap quality?
1978
1978
The sound quality is actually really good.
Enjoy it for what it is. It’s a snapshot of history, no more, no less. Sheesh
@@smartluck100 Ya, it looks ok. I assumed since it is 360p that it was a downgraded version.
