    Hi Laredo, nice video. One question: when taking full body shots are you always shooting near 70mm or even at 24 or 35mm? In this case (wider focal lengths) how high is your camera and where is the centre aiming at while you press the shutter? I mean do you center your model or you take advantage of wide lens distortions near the edge of the frame (for longer legs)?

    • @LaredoMontoneri
      @LaredoMontoneri  Pƙed 4 lety +11

      Hey Todief, I always, always shoot around 70mm or more if I can or at least never below 50mm when shooting for catalogue, because I don't like the distortion created by those wider focals. Consider that if you shoot for catalogue you need to keep a decent body proportions. So I use 70mm and I place my camera level at around her navel point so I have a full body proportion, I focus to the face with the focus point moved to the border of the frame. I would use wider focal only if really tight places or for creative fashion stuff. Hope I made myself clear..

    • @LaredoMontoneri
      @LaredoMontoneri  Pƙed 4 lety +4

      Hey Nincya, starting with friends is a good idea so you feel more relaxed. create a nice portfolio, rather than making random photos try to create fashion stories and once you get a nice portfolio you will start to feel more confident. I always shoot with only one camera as I Tether to the computer and I don't see reason to use two cameras. For sure bring different lens in case you may need different shoot. And of course bring a second body camera as a back up, in case the main camera fail and keep in you bag.

    Hey how long should the dimensions of the room be to get a full length photos. I finally have a studio to use but it’s been a task to get full body photos. I shoot with a 50mm 1.8, my room fits everything.. strobe lights, a backdrop that’s 5x7. So just wanted to get your opinion on would I need another lense or bigger space

    • @LaredoMontoneri
      @LaredoMontoneri  Pƙed 4 lety +7

      Hey Briana if you have a 50mm you may need at least 9 feet from the camera to the model to have her/him full figure (considering around 6" tall person), of course you may need extra space behind her/him to create the white background if you want to, I would say another 4 feet at least.
      These are very restricted dimensions but can work. If you already got a studio, test it out and see by yourself what works for you, consider also that you want to give some extra room above the person, you don't want to frame the model right exactly as much as the frame is.

    Which software tools do you use for post processing your images?
    I work in image editing work (background removal, ground shadows, airbrushing the skin, etc.) regularly for fashion ecommerce stores and recently came across AutoRetouch (autoRetouch - The first end-to-end, automated image processing platform.) I really like their service, even if it is not perfect yet. They are very cheap (0.1€ per pic) and you can export in PSD format to be able to continue the editing in Photoshop.
