  • This episode of Guided Laces features the Desert Elephant Air Jordan 3. Guided Laces is not a sneaker review, but a detailed look at sneakers that have come from official, retail stores. Guided Laces serves the purpose of helping sneakerheads authenticate their kicks to avoid being scammed by those selling sneakers via secondary markets.
    **Keep in mind, this is ONLY a guide to authenticity. Retail sneakers tend to vary due to production flaws and other inconsistencies, so every sneaker will not look exactly the same. **

    Both insole read AJ3 QF-8H MS 12G. Are these fake? Purchased through goat

      The ones in my video were ordered from DTLR. I thought it was strange that both insoles had something different. Yours could be real. I'm just not sure if the insoles are like that on most pairs or just some.

    Is it possible for the sneakers to be authentic? If they say made in China I noticed your say made in Vietnam I know Jordan ‘s are made in Vietnam and China but just wondering if you had any insight

    • @retrospectivedave9018
      @retrospectivedave9018  Před rokem

      Absolutely! The shoe could still be authentic. When Nike releases a shoe, there's usually a mass production, so different factories will have a hand in manufacturing them. So, depending what factory produced it, the shoe will either be made in Chine, Vietnam, Indonesia, etc.

      @@retrospectivedave9018 yeah when I was watching your video I thought mine were fakes for a minute until I saw yours had the same thing and just to double check I ran them through the check check app and they came back as legit

    Are any legit pairs of these made in China too? My pair has bad stitching inside and no red lines. The insoles have no serial number and feel really light and thin. Is says made in China and not Vietnam. I think I got a fake but I need some feedback. I purchased resell from one of the big online resell store's.

      What's up, M T? Thank you for your comment, and I'm sorry you're not completely satisfied with your order.
      As of right now, I'm not sure if any retail pairs were produced in China. I would have to check a few stores to see if any pairs vary. I wouldn't be surprised if production relocates from time to time, but I don't know how common that is.
      As for the other inconsistencies you've found while using my video as a reference, sometimes people just get a "bad" shoe. It could be real, but the craftsmanship could just be bad.
      Now, the stamps and insoles should be uniform across the board. So, if you're finding too many inconsistencies, then it might not be a retail pair. I will for sure cross reference a few pairs for you to see if I find anything different.

      Ive bought 3 AJ (concord 5s, stealth 12, desert elephants) that released this year. The first two were footlocker/mall pickups. The last one was through Flight Club. They all say made in china. Even some 13s i bought from snipes last year says made in china

    My laces are slightly different in size. Is this normal?

      Thanks for your comment, quebeee! My fire red 5's had that issue. I don't think it's common, but it happens.

    The tongue on mine are shorter than other Jordan 3s, are these normal?

    • @retrospectivedave9018
      @retrospectivedave9018  Před rokem +1

      I haven't noticed.
      Which 3's are you comparing your pair to?

    • @JRSRLN
      @JRSRLN Před rokem +1

      I compared them to Black Cements and Fire Red 3s. I looked at some images online and Fire Red 3s have the long tongues, the same with the Black Cements, but some of these have short tongues too.

    • @retrospectivedave9018
      @retrospectivedave9018  Před rokem +1

      The bLAck Cement is an older shoe and doesn't quite have the OG shape that some of the newer 3's have.
      I compared my Elephant 3's to the Fire Red and the tongues are the same in height. It's possible that your pair was made differently.

      I was able to order mine from DTLR's website a few days after they dropped, so I'm sure you can find a pair for retail or close to it.
