I’ve noticed with Asian parents they won’t say, ‘I love you’ to their children. They just ask, ‘what do you want to eat, I’ll make it’ and thats how they show love 🤣

Yep. I never understood it, until I realized it is very easy to say I love you, you just mouth it. But real love, needs action, takes effort.

As a slavic person, the whole calling 20 times a day is relatable. If I miss my mom's call even once she would think I'm dead or something.
My Finnish grandmother does the same thing, even when she knows I’m in school and can’t answer her
Getting checked up on can be so annoying but it's also very wholesome. The alternative is having no one who'd even care whether we were alive or dead uvu`

Exactly, always full of question marks when people speak some random Mandarin to us, just want to shout at them: Hey wtf are you talking to? English is our official language can’t you just speak English?
Personally I will respond "now, listen you simple minded Mandarin Frankenstein, here in HK, we speak Cantonese, not Mandarin. I am not in favour for some random strangers over 10 years of age randomly saying
'HII!!!' In my language."
why do you get mad about it, just correct them and say you don’t speak Mandarin

As a Mexican I really appreciate he named the lady Consuela instead of some generic name like Maria or Lupe.
Consuela has to be the most fucking generic mexican name is existance
@@childcannibalism5080 as someone who has never been in contact with any mexican, that name is relatively new and not as generic as maria.
He should have said daisy. Its surprising how white people react to such names thinking "its not spanish enough" speaks levels of racism
@@rolandomota7771 I mean. I have yet to meet a Mexican name 'Daisy'. It's more a matter of common names, I wouldn't expect a person of Spanish heritage to be named 'Matthew' in the English pronunciation. It would make more sense for them to be Mateo because that's how their language says the word in particular. It's not racism but more assuming that people of different heritage are more than likely to be named different names from the standard, generic, white names of Daisy, Timothy, Smith and such.
It is also the same for people of other groups. To use a personal, albeit biased, example. I would never expect another Eritrean like me to be named 'Jonathan Smith'. I would expect 'Yonas Gebreselassie' as his first and last name. It is normally the same for people of other cultures interacting with one another. There is a distinct set of rules for acceptable names in certain cultures and that's just how it is lol.

I am Asian and my brother is studying in Germany and he talks everyday to us and if one day he doesn't call my mum starts overthinking and all bad stuff starts running through her mind, it's weird but that's how close Asian families are

My mom thought I was drunk and dead in a ditch when I didn’t call lol
I think they said they are close to their family so that’s pretty messed up 🤷🏻♀️😂
Good comedians are forward-anthropologists. They help record subtle nuances in our culture that future generations will marvel at in the future. Our cultural landscape is changing (there's lots of cultural assimilation/mixing going on) and future generations will appreciate where we're coming from.

My Korean mother did this to me when I was 25. Or rather she threatened she would if I didn't call her back. She never did cuz I called her and kinda sorta went off on her. At this point, I'd been out of the house for 7 years and been married for 5. Can I just be an independent grown-up?!🤣🤣🤣🤦🏻♀️
not to an asian parent no. you are always a kid in their eyes.
You'll miss it one day...trust me. I wasn't smart enough.. do better!
@@valevale72 I'm not going to miss her trying to control me. Believe me. At that point was not to make sure I was okay. It was to try to control me. I'm not going to miss her doing that. You don't have to right to threaten your adult child who has been out of the house for years that you'll do something to them if they don't let you control them. It was the equivalent of a adult tantrum. There is a huge difference in trying to completely control someone which my mother was trying to do and showing your concern. She was doing the former. Basically she wanted me to be a slave to her own wishes to use me as a trophy to wave around. "Look what I got!"
This is the same woman who disowned me multiple times for marrying a black man because she was racist.

that line hurts me
That was the point
It's not but you know when someone says that they mean Mandarin/Cantonese
Are you Chinese? I'm Chinese and most Chinese people I know would not get offended by that. We know speaking Chinese means speaking a Chinese language like Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien or any other Chinese dialect.
they meant to speak in *any* chinese dialects. mandarin is Chinese. Cantonese is chinese
Well, it is a language, even if it can reffer to two.

Everything he said as an American is so true it’s fucked up. Costco wouldn’t let me in even though I had my moms card with the same last name on my ID.
