Majo C Maybe, maybe not. Not trying to come for Dove, I really do think that she has the talent and training for the part, but sometimes productions will cast big/well known names to bring attention and public to the show

Saw this at The Dorothy Chandler Pavillon yesterday. Perfect from top to bottom. Dove Cameron is nothing short of sensational. Wonderful to see her on stage and growing as an artist.

@@elagray That is very true. She needs time to develop her singing abilities with other projects before she dives into something like this. I hope it's not so her fans can see it. But she actually has potential. Many Disney stars have made good broadway and musical theatre transitions. Especially Corbin and Ryan.
The Orchestral Arrangement is the Star: you all should be doing Ted Sperling’s laundry! I always dreamed of London getting to experience this glorious achievement of Musical Theatre (British spelling!). I got to see the show with original cast here in NYC in June 2005: Kelli O’Hara, Matthew Morrison, Victoria Clark & Company - I had already listened to the cast recording weeks before attending the live show at The Vivian Beaumont theater at Lincoln Center and, suffice it to say, I was in tears at the end of the live show... such a transcendental experience! “Dividing Day” with its wistful Solo Bassoon passage, even to this day, still gives me chills. “Love if you can and be loved... may it last forever...”

mackenzie elise Yeah, I knew she was in that too, just never personally saw footage of it! She’s amazing.
Not at all saying she can’t go beyond opera, but I think that she makes sense here given her background and the style in which the score is written.

@@emilypesce5315 Yes saw it today, was lovely, understudy named molly lynch as clara today, apparently dove cameron was ill, but made no difference to me as I don't know her.. It was really beautiful. It's hard to forget original recording if that's what you've listened to, but they were all great, and I finally have proper context for the songs! I've wanted to see something of guettel's for a little while now, so I'm glad I have. I particularly liked the voice of the actor who plays Fabrizio, rob houchen.

I was hoping she was on or you saw her perform, cause I want to know how she does. I actually will not be seeing it, I live in the united states. So, it will be difficult to travel over to see it haha... I would though if i had the money and time.. I would make a trip of it. Well glad you enjoyed it !
It appears to be playing Chicago and Los Angeles later in the year as part of the same production, so perhaps you could make it if you're nearby!

Ya’ll do realize they wouldn’t have chosen Dove for the part if she couldn’t do it. Everyone can have their own opinions, but seriously when casting for a show you choose the right people for the right parts.

My boyfriend was born and raised in Italy...and he’s Chinese. There’s actually a lot of Chinese people that migrated to Prato a loooooong time ago so there’s not really such thing as “Italian looking”
Of course there are italian looking people. People from all over europe always assume im italian, for example. There are cliches about every single área of the world

You’re actually wrong and I don’t even like her, I think she’s a brat but she does have some talent. She was Amber in the Hairspray Live TV show and she was one of the standouts. She was acceptable in Mamma Mia. I think she’ll do a good job playing blank and curious here, she’s a smart girl, but I fear she’s vocally overmatched. She doesn’t have any technique.
