- We are living the American dream driving the Historic Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica but we are doing some detours to visit some places we like.
In this 25th episode, we visit Shiprock, than Four Corners Monumento ( Navajo Nation Tribal Park ).

You've already been to one of our favorites and I really enjoyed your video from there (White Sands National Monument). I have said that Colorado & Washington are our two favorite states because of the spectacular scenery and diversity of landscapes. If you look at our Canada Bound playlist you'll find a video of our ride up Pikes Peak. It's the highest elevation that you can drive to in the US. Also in Colorado is what is called "the million dollar highway" Highway 550 from Ouray to Durango. It's known for its scenic beauty. I don't know if you have the time but one of the most scenic highways we traveled was the Beartooth Hwy (Montana/Wyoming) leading into Yellowstone National Park from the north (Hwy 212) .... about 11,000 feet elevation. Also, while you're near Colorado Springs, check out Garden of the Gods :-)
