Man is at 10. Arguably the most famous UFC rn. In less then 10 fights was able to win 2 UFC belts and still knocking out champions and top contenders. Unreal resume.
He can still improve though, imagine if his takedown defense was better, he would be even more terrifying.
Most definitely not a 10. His wrestling is probably like a 7 in terms of UFC skill and his stand-up is a 10. His knowledge is 10. He's probably a 8.5 just bcus of his ground game.
@@misc.shorts bit generous on his ground game, he’s very good at holding wrists to minimise damage/sub attempts and surviving until the end of the round to get up but his takedown defence is still like a 4/10 he’s been taken down by strikers like Izzy and Jan, he kept Jan off him for half his attempts but it was gassed 41 yr old jan

Plinio said that even at striking skills Poatan is still evolving because he started training too late, when he was already 23 years old, so he didn’t have time to maximize the basics. Remember when Alex fought Adesanaya for the first time, it was his 12 fight in professional kickboxing carrer while Adesanaya had already 40+ fights and had never been knocked out until their fight. Poatan was born to fight, I can not imagine what If he got a little bit earlier at combat sports. Him and Jon Jones has the best genetics for combat sports (natural body and mind for fighting skills).

I was always told as a kid that we are never perfect and there's always room to improve. I did a lot of combat spots but I got a lot to improve as a fighter and as a human being myself
How Alex explained his mindset with that 7 he gave himself and then seeing wei do the same. you can tell mentality is a big thing in martial arts. if you think you're a 10 and have no room to improve then you might fall down, but if you remain humble and constantly look to learn and grow then I believe thats what keeps a champion a champ.
