A beautiful job, please take good care of yourself.
You know it! I realize that the older I get I do have to slow it down. That’s what ai’m trying to do. Fewer videos but better quality. Tell me, what are your thoughts on what you’d like to see? I’m working on my video calendar.
Thank you so much, just found you. It is so gray to find a Normal organizer!!!
Hahaha! Both apply. I am gray. I look in the mirror and see my mother. Hahaha! I’m glad you like my pantry job. It’s what’s working for me right now. And I figure there are those that need to see an old-fashioned pantry.
From one retired nurse to another, that is an impressive surgical scar! You go girl! I am glad that you are moving along on your recovery road. I used to have a deep, narrow “pantry”. The best thing I ever did, was to change to roll-out shelves. They work beautifully and I can easily reach all of the items at the back of the shelf. Lifesaver!
Roll-out shelves! Who knew? I will look into the feasibility for my pantry. Where did you get them?
New subbie here; love this video! I admire your recycle reuse of jars; use of masking tape (which I do the same thing). Pantry looks wonderful! Excited to future videos! Sorry you had surgery but I understand as I have two new knees and that was before the age of 57.. Thank you for sharing your life hacks!
Hi Wendy. Welcome to the community. What video can I make for you? I must admit, the pantry is looking good but every night with my last minute tidy up I put everything back in place, that’s the only way it will stay that way. You’ve had both knees replaced? Hopefully that took care of the pain and any mobility issues. I’m working with physical therapy right now on mobility of this wrist postop. It’s doing well but still needs a bit of work.
Denise, the pantry looks fantastic! You did a great job!! You look like you’re feeling better too. So glad you’re back!! You were missed. 🙂
Gracie, thank you so much! I did miss being here but could only do what I could do. I am feeling better. Almost my old self. One step at a time. Is there something in particular I could make for you?
@@homemakingwithdenise I will just put it plainly Denise. You are a comfort to me, whether you’re just talking or if you’re cleaning or cooking. I lost my mom to cancer a couple of years ago, and I miss just sitting down and talking with her over tea or coffee. You bring some of that comfort back to me just by being yourself, no matter what you’re doing. I love your wisdom, and it seems like with every video I learn something. Be encouraged in what you do. You really are touching lives in a positive way. Thank you Denise!
Your channel today and enjoyed learning how to organize my pantry. Some thing that I desperately need to do. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. I'm a new subscriber!
Welcome to Homemaking with Denise. I hope you find much here to meet your homemaking needs. As for the pantry refresh, what tip resonated with you most? And what video can I make for you?
I remember having a cupboard like that when I was growing up and we'd keep all kinds of things in there. I miss having one in my own home now so Great Job Denise
These deep pantries. You can keep a lot in them but keeping them organized…well, now, that takes some doing. What’s your pantry like today?
You did a great job Denise and you may have been a little tired, but at the end of the day, you got the job done!
Use shelf liners on those that aren't easy to clean. dollar store sells them for $1.25
Oh my goodness. What a good idea and so simple. Shelf-liner would make them easy to wipe out. However, I don’t usually get spills or stickiness on that side. I’ll have to think on that.
TODAY! 😮
Frig duty took hours. That's what happens when you don't move the outside frig for many years. Yup, years. Although, I would vac the under coils yearly. Surprised the thing still works. I had to scrape & scrape the buildup on the cement.
I also opened the back and vac'd the interior and vents.
The water drain was plugged, so water was draining to interior bottom. I wiped the bottom & veg'y drawers. I also removed & unplugged the drain tube.
I still need to wipe/clean the exterior, but I think I will do that on the 5th, appliance day.
I have been trying to do this for sooooo looonnng. It feels good 😊 to finally check off the zone list ✅
Wow! Now I feel as if Zi should look into the things you mentioned on mine. I put vacuuming the coils on my list of chores but for some reason, I never get to it. Hmmmm. Thanks for the reminder.
@@homemakingwithdenise Clean coils will help the frig breathe and efficiently cool. It should help extend the life of frig because it works less to keep frig cool.
This task is on my quarterly zone list, but hadn't been doing it. Need to get back to doing it consistently.
@@homemakingwithdenise look forward to the zone cleaning video for frg maintenance. Frig replacement is so expensive. We need to keep it "happy" to extend it's life.
You have a beautiful pantry Denise
Thank you. I’m making it work, I looked in the pantry just this morning and thought about how nice it looked in there. All neat and tidy. I am appreciative.
9:03 My hubby does that to he just put it wherever! Lol He does that with dishes also. They go in the vicinity just not the way I like it. At least he unloaded the dish washer so there is that! I just don’t say anything and just move it later.
Exactly. I appreciate what he does and after 52 years, I realize that what makes sense to me might mean something else to him. It’s easier to just move it where I want it.
you always have the very best videos thank you
Oh my! Thank you. I am trying to be of service and offer the best that I can on this homemaking journey. What resonated with you most?
THAT IS A BEAUTIFUL PANTRY, I LOVE THE NATURAL WOOD ❤
I love the natural dark wood , too. Several viewers have suggested I update my look and paint the wood but no thank you. Your thoughts?
My thoughts regarding my natural honey oak 1990s kitchen is dont paint! Wood will be back in style. I updated by changing the hardware, and maybe later, the counter or back splash. I've already been seeing it in many kitchens. We have only had our home 4 years. I struggle with my deep pantry. New sub, and thank you for the video
This video made me want to take a good look at my pantry area, plus my baking ingredient shelves. Your extra lift shelves could be an idea I could use. Thanks, Denise.
I’m glad it was helpful. Staying organized is an ongoing process and using tiered shelving to access vertical space can prove useful. Organizing baking ingredients or creating zones is another great idea. Send me a picture when you sort it out.
I “Jeuge” my pantry every month but about once or twice a year it needs totally cleaned out. Today a cab fell on my foot ouch! It needs a little Jeuging 😬
A can fell on your foot? More than ouch. How many “blue” words popped out?
I used large lazy Susans from IKEA for my deep (60cm) shelves
I like that idea. I had not thought to use lazy Susan’s in that pantry though I do have them in my spice pantry. Why this did not occur to me, I don’t know. I will think about how it might work for me in there!
What is the next video you recommended ?
This one on my homemaking routine would be good. Here's the link:czcams.com/video/H0-IXACimxs/video.html
Yes all ways something sticky. My pantry is just the space under the stairs.
Is it a walk in space? Describe it for me. How do you keep it sorted out?
I am a retired chef by trade so I set up my kitchen areas to reflect places that I worked in for many years. I have a condiments cabinet beside our frig over our microwave counter. It is easy access for replacing our condiments in the frig. I have have a kitchen pantry that has 4 shelves. I have gray burlap sturdy baskets on either side of the bottom shelf with our trash bags in the center. In the baskets we store bottles of shelf stable unopened juices and ginger ale 2 liters. The second shelf are my baking items and these are in neat rows for easiest reach. The third shelf are my canisters of cereals/crackers and unopened oats so nothing really gets messy or sticky in this pantry. My third pantry is a floor cabinet in the nearest corner to the shared wall of our kitchen. In this space I store canned goods only on the first three shelves and the bottom shelf houses our packs of napkins/paper towels and paper plates. This cabinet requires little cleaning as well. We store any loose pantry items we open in 2 quart or 1 quart ball jars and these are lined across the two upper shelves in our hutch and displayed easily for my use when needed. The lower cabinets house any over flow canned goods/oils and vinegars until we need to refill these. Once opened; these items do not return to the lower hutch. I have more of a farm kitchen with a long wooden work table in the room with hob knob clear jars for items like rice/sugar/oats/stuffing mix/baking mix/ap and sr flours and pancake mixes so this table is wiped down several times a week as needed. The kitchen counters get wiped down the most when I am preparing meals or baked goods. I wanted my pantries more for storage only of back stocked items so they stay pretty clean. God bless and thanks so much for the video! I really enjoyed seeing how you worked with your spaces~
