When Leo and Brad started rolling down the street to this song I knew this was gonna be a hell of a trip. What a fuckin movie this was.
I cannot understand why people don't like this movie, it was fucking awesome
Its one of my favourites tbh, easy 10/10
@@felixmattsson2535 I think a lot of younger audiences didn’t understand the culture or time period it was going for, regardless it was fucking awesome, sucks to be them
I didn't know anything about that Charlie Manson thing. Such a shame. The movie made no sense without thah context. Now that I know, I also know how the movie ends so there's no point. I wasted an entire Tarantino production because I didn't know enough about Charlie Manson and his ranchees :(
@@danielhenderson762 that is very true, it took me 2 times until i realized that
The thing about Tarantino films is that he has a way of making things look cool AF
Let’s not forget it be the most basic ass shit that he makes cool
Hes also great at making food look really good (the strudel in Inglourious Basterds) and drinks look really refreshing (Ordell Robbie's screwdrivers in Jackie Brown, The $5 milkshake in Pulp fiction and the blender of frozen margerita in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood)
One of the most stylish scenes in cinema. My love for this movie is immense.
But your love for lays is surely immense too?
Brilliant.
Shittiest movie ever

I will never understand how people call this movie boring. I guess they can't appreciate the beauty of a simpler time. Let alone the fact Tarantino had facades made etc to make a few blocks of Hollywood look like 1969's Hollywood. Some don't appreciate the detail that went into this movie. Fun fact the car the Manson hippies pull up in when plotting whom to kill, is the actual Manson car the real hippies drove when they murdered Sharon, her unborn child, and others. RIP. Glad the movie took a different turn
For real? That’s the real car? How’d Tarantino swing that?
I personally found the movie really slow compared to the other Tarantino films that I’ve seen so far (I’ve seen 6 out of the 9 films so far), but I will admit that some of the shots in this movie are just GORGEOUS! The ending of this movie is fucking awesome as well! I also love the soundtrack in this movie too, and AUSTIN FREAKING BUTLER is in this!!! (And this movie came out 3 years before the 2022 Elvis movie!) Overall, while I certainly don’t hate the movie by any means, it’s not my first choice when it comes to showing someone a Quentin Tarantino movie
No, it was a fake. They DID find the real car, but then decided not to use it
No it’s not. Tarantino declined using the real one.
The way I see it if you aren't that into late 60s early 70s aesthetics the movie could be seen as possibly mundane
As always great opening credit sequence by Quentin
Pedros Videos he didn’t say this was better but ok
@@bethenawaltz4190 whiskey sour.
yeah, but nothing can beat inglourious basterds opening
@@Mr.White10-65sucks he ruined that perfectly good whiskey sour with such a cheap maraschino cherry. Gotta use luxardo cherries.
1:12 "I want to tell you a story". First line of the film, I think it was intentional. Genius
You do realize there are other lines sung before that right?
And there's several scenes before this one.
you did not watch the movie lol
@@blackman5183it may not be the FIRST line But It Still Fots He has a point
Probably the best film of 2019
What’s interesting is the song used is called “Treat Her Right”, and this movie finally treats Sharon Tate right by giving her the ending she deserved.
Sharon state and the city of Los Angeles.
This is how that terrible night in 1969 should have ended.
@Ian64 - the song "Treat Her Right" was co-written by Roy Head of Texas. He's also the singer. I remember when it was released in '65. It was a smash hit. Roy was an acrobatic dancer. He would do somersaults off of raised stages onto the floor below. Roy was born in '41. Sharon Tate was born in '43 in Dallas. My dad met Roy at his rural home north of Houston in the late '80s because my dad had a pot-bellied pig that had grown way too big for his house, & Roy & his wife were happy to take the pig in. They had a lot of them on their land. When Tarantino was making the film he told Roy he wanted to use the song. In a news media article Roy said he was very pleased to know that the song would be in the film. Roy died in 2020, the year after the film was released. Regarding Sharon & the other 6 who were slaughtered by some members of the Manson family, I hope that California never releases those mass-murdering monsters "Tex" Watson & Patricia Krenwinkel. God bless the Fallen 7.
Roy Head singing "Treat Her Right" & dancing on Shindig in '65, the year the song was released.

Never thought of that
Having Hollywood’s top super-stars of the film industry with their names both credited in same frame with the sync of the music… now that’s HOW YOUR INTRODUCE A MOVIE, even if you don’t have to see their well-known faces… no dialogue, no talking, just introducing the time, period, music, context of that era with just physical actions… and in just 2 MINUTES that feel EPIC. and what a way to honor in a fairy-tale style of storytelling the late Sharon Tate with the ending she deserved IRL. most stylish Tarantino movie ever!
Nice touch having Pitt look over his shoulder when backing up his , everyone did that in 70s.
I do it now too.
When the intro of your movie is so epic that someone quoted it in an anime opening.
Absolutely love the shot of their shoes ...showing how different they are but best buds.
Love the visual storytelling. Little things like that go a long way and it compliments the viewers' intelligence. Let's us figure out those things for ourselves.
One of the best opening songs in a movie.
0:41 I want to reverse like that
0:35 the best part...
As soon as the music started My dad went yep, this is a Tarantino film alright 😂
I guess the music in his films have a particular kind of style
I love how you can tell it's a Tarantino film just from the typeface he uses for his credits: These are the same ones he used for Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown.
Never noticed that Brad and Leo’s credits are reversed
They aren’t if you look in a mirror
Mark Decoco or if they drove a british car
It’s intentional for the point of the film
Just like 90% of DVD cpvere where the wrong names are over the actors
really? I noticed that in my first watch. (I am not trying to be the “I AM SMARTER AND SUPERIOR” guy I am genuinely surprised
I love this movie very much because of the great actors ( leo di caprio ,Brad Pitt and Margot ) and the fantastic director.
Out of all of his incredible opening shots (the reservoir dogs walk, the pulp fiction robbery, the jackie brown steady cam, etc) this is easily one of his best ever. - immediately establishes the time, place and characters so perfectly.
No need of All Marvel and DC Stuff to give goosebumps in the screen all we need is the entry of Leo and Brad coming out of the door at 1:29
Best summer movie of 2019.
At 1:00 people near margot are dancing just like Thurman and Travolta in Pulp fiction i never noticed that 😲
Toni Basil!!
The twist was popular at the time.
Doryoku, Mirai, A Beautiful Star
Tried the Ouatih Spotify soundtrack for Treat her Right but something was off, I need to hear the car door sounds and the opening radio, a testament to how good of an opening this is I suppose, brilliant film
exactly, the radio jingle just really sets the mood
Leo and Brad's names being flipped is definitely intentional right? Its like the director of Lancer, Sam Wanamaker, was saying to Leo's character, "I don't want them to see Jake Cahill I want them to see Caleb!" The idea is that you as the audience are not suppose to see Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt staring in a movie, you are watching Rick Dalton and Cliff Booth right now, whose playing who does not matter.
And of course Cliff is Rick's stunt double and so from some perspective they are interchangeable.
I think it’s because the film is more about the lesser known figures than the more famous ones, whether they be fictional (Rick) or real (Polanski and Manson). Which is why we see more of Sharon Tate, Cliff and the Manson girls/Tex Watson than the others. Also, it makes sense because Pitt arguably gets more screen-time.
So having Cliff be in front of DiCaprio’s top billing is saying that he’s actually the stealth main character.
its because leo has top billing
spicyboi2000 Leo is the top billing but Brad’s character is the main char

One of QT’s best intros
I love how at the beginning everything is calm and the birds are chirping and shit lol 😂
Loved the movie. Y'know, this was double-fun at the movies (remember those places :D?), because I went with friends and each time that poster popped up, we'd be doing this "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?" sound. My friends were so good at it that they could simulate the distance/position to the camera. Couldn't stop laughing.
I felt so happy when I saw this at the cinema after so many times watching the trailer while waiting for the release date haha
I saw it on premiere night and I gotta tell you it was a blast!!
Sameeeeee
Love the movie. Some of my fellow Tarantino film enthusiasts were disappointed. I kinda get it. Sorta. It's Tarantino's least violent movie, extremely heavy on the dialogue and mostly a homage to a period of time. So it stands out as one of his more unusual projects, I suppose. As a Tarantino fan I really don't want all his movies to look/feel the same. He's a true artist and full of surprises.
It's slow burning, reflective, needs prior knowledge, homage and rewards the wait.
Many people tho absolutely adore it.
every time I watch Tarantino's movie,I recognize cant quit cigarettes...
so cool
I just noticed this - at exactly 1:00, the guy in the suit to the right of Sharon Tate is doing Vincent Vega's part of the Twist from Pulp Fiction.
Also, how the hell did Tarantino get the shot of the Pan Am 747? It's a retired plane (the version shown was a -100) from a retired airline. And a little trivia about the 747: that spiral staircase to the upper deck was only on the 100 & 200. The 300/400 replaced it with a straight one.
Edit: I think they just used a -400.
@Luka Matevski it obviously is
@Rafael Enriquez amazing
Most likely the shot was made by using a miniature model of a plane, and a rear projection technique for the sky. It's an old school trick, which kind of works like green screen today, but Tarantino prefers retro.
Definitely a really well made set
Chainsaw man
The synchronized opening of their lighters tho

This shot 1:36 is so fucking awesome, this film will always be legendary for having Leo and Brad and casting them as best buds
I'm born to late to fully acquire the full meaning of the time thing in this movie, but this was definitely the most meta tarantino ever was and I freaking love this movie nevertheless.

Soo a weird question, i know it's Rick's(Leo) face in the poster in the parking but the mouth n jaw part they show is exactly like Tarantino's... Was this intentional?
