I love that sound! It brings me back to being in the woods with my grandpa, back when I was a kid. He's the reason I'm a lover of nature. I love the markings on this bird. It's God's beauty!

There are 5 of these eating the European Chafer beetles in my yard & their pointed beaks are aerating the lawn at the same time. They are much less destructive than the crows & raccoons. Keep eating.
Wow beautiful! I'm not sure I've seen these at my feeder. The head shape and color look familiar but not the spotted belly. I will keep an eye out to see if I can spot one!

Looked out because I thought a seagull was on a roof and saw a reddish looking bird and later found out it was a flicker and this sound just proves it was the same sound

Just heard one really loudly in our garden, used an AI app (Birdnet) to identify the call, and came here to confirm. And indeed that's exactly what I heard, only ours was so much louder and a little bit more shrill and high pitched.

Hello There is Flicker or Flicker’s that constantly make this sound, all day and night, since June. Some times it’s so loud at night the windows need to be closed. Anyone know why this Flicker would do this? I have seen 3 of them always together. Thanks
