San Francisco Bay

For an introductory college-level physical geology class: a review of the formation of San Francisco Bay, the erosional and depositional features that have impacted it in the past and present, and the landforms and features found on the Pacific Coastline and within the estuary itself. It also reviews what San Francisco Bay looked like during the last ice age and the remnants of that ice age found today in the sands that underly the city of San Francisco.
**This video comes near the end of the semester, so there may be terms with which the audience is unfamiliar, in particular the concepts of plate tectonics and earthquakes. For a full playlist, refer to the Geology playlist on the Earth Rocks! CZcams Channel.
Content within this video is based on information available in any standard introductory college geology textbook, such as Essentials of Geology -- Tarbuck and Lutgens -- Pearson Publishing.
