Just wanted to know if you also factor in the Sam's club "instant savings" throughout the year on toiletries? Toilet paper is also hard to compare since there are so many variations, just wondering how you're so sure. I liked your video also. I'm the cheapest person I know, thanks for the info. Every cent counts!

I've also found that the Member's Mark toilet tissue is excellent. My plumber recommends it because if you lay a couple of sheets in the toilet and come back a couple of hours later, is all broken up. It's totally septic safe. I love their paper towels, but I need someone to split them with. I love their patio furniture and hope I can afford at the end of the season. The other furniture is made for people that are much shorter. I've not found anything with firm cushions. ALWAYS check the markdown rack. I got the best patio furniture covers for 9 bucks each. They were open box. I couldn't have found a quality tarp for that price. It's all about education.... Know your prices!!

To highlight your statement of you can’t buy everything everywhere I’ll just relay a personal memory. I remember growing up that when my mother would go shopping she would usually visit two or sometimes three different grocery stores because she had either coupons or sales flyers or personal preferences and we go to one store for meat and fish and another store for household items at another store for vegetables or other groceries. Because the deals were the deals.

I love their version of gain detergent, toilet paper & other items hands down! I personally won't shop Best Buy because we bought a TV that was a 3 in 1 & the cd player on it didn't work, we went in & they wouldn't return or exchange it, we only had it for a few days. Found out it was $200 less, they wouldn't even refund the difference as per the policy says 2 weeks. Needless to say that day they lost a customer that used to only buy there!

Mattress purchases generally are not a great purchase at Sam's, agreed. However, there are select times of the year when the discounts are heavy and the shipping is free. Many don't know this and continue to pick up curbside in the truck. I've even been known to drive one home, down the interstate, on top of a small foreign car. Gone are those days, and perhaps my days of purchasing mattresses are as well.

When looking for a sofa we found the best deal locally at Sam's. It's still holding up after about 5 years. Plus, you could actually try the sofa out; something you can't do online just to find out you don't like it and then have to pay to ship it back. As far as toilet paper, I haven't priced what our grocery stores are charging post-coronas, but the Member's Mark pack was the better deal and product.

The 12inch king memory foam Serta mattress I purchased from Sam’s club was the best deal I a could find anywhere ($450 in September 2020 and currently selling for $519 today). It also turned out to be the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on. One of my best purchases to date. The shipping was free with my plus membership. My brother purchased same mattress in the queen size a few weeks ago. He agrees completely on the amazing level of comfort. The price was a nice bonus.

The warehouse appears bigger, they have more items and I also think their snack area is better- the pizza tastes better, they have more choices. They use styrofoam cups to keep drinks cooler. The last

A 45 pack of yo from Sam’s is only $16 and you can’t get that at any grocery store. A bottle of detergent in my house lasts a month so it doesn’t get old. They also sell the hypoallergenic detergent that I have to use for my kids that comes in very small bottles in regular stores. I respect what you saying but it doesn’t really apply to people with large families. You are trying to get the most for the least especially now that I’m not working.

Thank you for the video. Always good to comparative shop but know that there is no one retailer consistently better over another. Sam's club has very bad response times when it comes to customer service inquiries. That said, I just recently purchased an Abbyson Futon and Serta mattress from Sam's and I'm very very pleased with both items. Prices were extremely right and delivery of both went very well during quarantine. Order process times weren't statused though and customer service wasn't helpful after long hold times. On average, you should add two weeks to the estimated delivery date posted on the website, app when buying furniture, mattresses from Sam's. As always price check the stock# at other retailers for the best deal.

Sam's toilet paper is slightly larger and so it fits the type of holders in my house. All the others at supermarkets and the other brands are slightly smaller - too small to fit. I always get paper towels and toilet paper from Sam's. HEB is WAY more expensive for both. The package of PT is 15.98 so it equals 1.06 for those huge rolls. It's even cheaper than Costco. The huge packages of TP are also cheaper than other stores around us and the toilet paper lasts us a month.

I know this is a year old video but u mentioned not purchacing furniture at sams, i agree...buuutt they used to (they may still, not sure, i dont need my memebership there anymore) have amazing patio and outdoor furniture and the priced were always reasonable and the best part was that if ANYTHING happened to it and it got dammaged in any way you could bring the whole set back and exchange it for another or if they didnt have the exact set you could exchange it for another brand new set of equal value. Like we got a really pretty patio set and i think it was like a month or 2 later and the wind wreaked all the parts of the set we couldnt fit undercover or in the garage(it was a decent sized table and set too) and we told them what happened and they let us exchange it, we had to have all the pieces of the set but they let us get a whole new set and we lucked out and they had one more of the exact set....it gets better tho...it happened again a year or two later and i think that time a lil more rime had passed since we got it and we asked if we could still return it for an exchange and they let us do it again! That time there were no more of the original set but we got a really nice, maybe even more pretty set that was comprable in price. Like i said im not sure if they still do this or not but it was a life saver for us! And back then they always had really nice patio furniture of all different sizes too....To give a time ref, it was aprox between the years 2003 and 2007. Anyhows thanks for your awesome and informative videos!! Much love🤗❤

While you are right that not all prices in these categories are good deals at Sam's Club I have found way better deals in all of these categories than I could get anywhere else. You just have to do your research before making any significant purchases to make sure you are getting a good deal. This includes a sound bar (although this was a Black Friday deal), leather couch, bar + stool set, mattress, toilet paper (just wait for them to go on instant savings), and a washer & dryer set. These were all at least 30% cheaper than I could buy an equivalent product at somewhere else.
All in all, I think you really can't make any all encompassing comments like this and be fully accurate. It would be better to say that you need to be leery of buying stuff from Sam's Club in these categories since the deals are hit or miss.

I agree with everything except the toilet paper. It is NOT just about cost here. My husband is VERY picky when it comes to toilet tissue. We have tried EVERY brand at the grocery store / Walmart, and there is not ONE that compares to Members Mark at Sam's club. I think the price is good, and it is so unbelievably comfy on the....well....you know. You will never convince me to give up my MM toilet paper (or paper towels, for that matter). My husband would be extremely unhappy....as would I.

I don’t agree with you on 1 and 3. I buy tide pods at Sams and I price compare. Based on the amount of pods (168) I saved $14 if I bought at Target, $18 if I bought at the grocery store, and $22 if I bought at CVS. We only use PODs so we go through within 2-3 months. Toilet paper is even worse. Even with coupons, they were still not close to what I paid at Sams Club.

Some great comments. I have a friend who has a membership to Sam’s club. And I have to disagree about the laundry detergent myself. I am disabled, and therefore do not drive. And cannot be running all over to buy stuff. So, when I need to be able to stock up on stuff Sam’s Club is a good way for me to do that. Also, I have to shop at places like target or Walmart and get what I need depending on sales are no sales.

We always have to be vigilant in researching purchases. No one store offers the best price on all the island they sell. My experience with Wayfair was not pleasant. We purchased an large entertainment center and paid for assembly which was to be completed by a contractor thru the Handy app. The item was actually delivered curbside and we had to drag it into the house. Fortunately it was staying on the first floor. The assembly was scheduled for the following day. No one showed. After three more reschedules and ten days later, finally someone did come out to complete the assembly. The cost and aggravation all have to be factored in when purchasing furniture online.

If you download the Dollar General app, you can almost always get toilet paper coupons, and save much more than at a grocery store. They have two brands, Scott's and Cottonelle, that are everyday priced at only $5 for nine rolls.
