I'm pretty sure the King Kong Escapes is part of the Godzilla continuity and is a prequel to King Kong vs Godzilla. I've always assumed that the difference in height and stature was because Kong was younger, and so was the Gorosaurus that fought Kong, or maybe that it was a pygmy species of Gorosaurus? Another element to add to this theory is that in King Kong vs Godzilla everyone already know who King Kong's name is without ever being told his name by the natives that worshiped him. The reason everyone is familiar with Kong already is because of his battle with Mechani-Kong in Tokyo years earlier. Also, considering the fact that King Kong can swim, it isn't impossible that he inhabited multiple islands in the South Pacific that he swam between often such as Mondo and Faro island in which he had different natives unaware of each others existence, similarly worshiping him. I know Toho didn't care about strong continuity that much, but there are a lot of things pointing to this theory being true. But again, it's just a theory.

Roadkill Kong. I like to make jokes, but honestly Toho's Kong movies are a hell of a lot of fun. They have a real nostalgic charm and while perfect for an MST3K style riffing, I still have a genuine affection for them.
One of the reasons they had King Kong win is because in the movie Godzilla is depicted as the bad guy at that time, so the director wanted Kong to be victorious. I wonder who will in the new Godzilla vs King Kong since now they are both good guys?
King Kong vs. Godzilla is my all-time favorite Godzilla movie. I would've preferred to see it as a more serious adaptation (being directed by Ishiro Honda, and all), but I have a peculiar admiration for the movie's silly concept.
King Kong vs Godzilla is one of my most favorite Godzilla movies because its the first time the King of the Monsters fights the Gorilla God. I like to see King Kong protects the natives, rather than Eating them. He saves them from Oodako, the giant man-eating Octopus that threatens people and eats them. I wonder why King Kong escapes is in its own continuity. I was aware of the film for decades but only recently saw it. I figured it was in the main Tohoverse since Gorosaurus was in Destroy All Monsters. King Kong Escapes is such goofy fun. I love it.
Technically, _King Kong Escapes_ does belong to the continuity of _Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla_ and _Tokyo S.O.S._ along with several other Showa Toho kaiju films, as revealed in tie-in books. It's just not in the same continuity as any of the Showa Godzilla films, presumably because they wanted to tell a standalone story and needed to scale Kong down from how tall he was in _King Kong vs. Godzilla_.

I like to think the 1962 kong is the son of the original King Kong like a grown son of Kong. And the 1967 Kong is the son of the 1962 Kong because he’s smaller.

Okay theres a bit of a plothole regarding Kong's height in King Kong Escapes. He's the same size as Gorosaurus, yet in Destroy all Monsters Gorosaurus is roughly around the same size as Godzilla. Yet he's suppose to be less than half the height as his K vs G counterpart?
Yes, it is just a size inconsistency with Gorosaurus' scaling. He's canonically only 35 meters tall although his suit is the same height as Godzilla's.

Kong 2017 is over 100 feet tall, 31.6 meters is about 104 feet. He still isn't as tall as the 1962 Kong, who stood 45 meters, or about 148 feet, tall.

I know lots of people REALLY dont like this kong design but me personally i love it he looks so much more than just a overgrown gorilla he actually looks kinda like a kaiju take on a gorilla instead of just a gorilla being upscaled i will say tho he does look high out of his mind throughout the flim tho LOL

1). Kong lands in the water and loses his electricity and swims away with Godzilla swimming in victory but getting swept away by a hurricane
2). Kong's electricity sends a powerful shockwave that knocks out Godzilla and Kong swims away in victory while Godzilla is swept away by a hurricane

Okay theres a bit of a plothole regarding Kong's height in King Kong Escapes. He's the same size as Gorosaurus, yet in Destroy all Monsters Gorosaurus is roughly around the same size as Godzilla. Yet he's suppose to be less than half the height as his K vs G counterpart?
Yes, it is just a size inconsistency with Gorosaurus' scaling. He's canonically only 35 meters tall although his suit is the same height as Godzilla's.
